The name “Fukui” (福井) refers to both the prefecture (Fukui-ken) and capital city (Fukui-shi). It’s said to originate from the “fuku-no-i” (福の井) on castle grounds — literally “well of fortune.”.

Then I decided to stroll down Koshino-cho. It’s a cute little street, lined with shops and cafes. I was vibin’ until I tripped over my own feet. Classic me. I fell right in front of this old lady.
