Richmond, it a big place with lot of buildings and peoples. I never see such thing before in life, it like big fair of buildings stuck all around. Funny thing, people here don’t even know all they're neighbor. But anyhow, let me tells you little I learn about this city.
Richmond in AU is not like my village. It got train that runs fasts and peoples carry coffee everywhere, like they need it for survivin'. It also has big bridge thing called Charles Bridge or something, and lot of places peoples park car. Someone tell me it's a place where peoples love AFL football a lot. Fancy stadium nearby, I think.
Oh my goodness, the city got somethin' called Melbourne Cricket Ground close. I can’t even figure it size, bigger than my whole farmland. They also have cafe place every street corner, tiny shop sell weird thing called 'avocado toast.' The best place me seen is somethin' called Richmond Market, you can buy shiny glass bottle and some colored scarf what look pretty.
Church street is big one. it's got shop after shop all standing straight in line like soldier. Bridge Road also famous, the clothes shop galore there—it too fancy for what I wear! Then there’s Swann Street, it full of food from many places, some spicy, some sweet.
When I step off bus from village, the city too loud, full of noise of cars pushing horn. People here in big hurry, even when nobody chasing 'em. I once entered a place called "shopping mall", and I sees so many light it hurt my eyes. In my village, only one shop even exist! Peoples in Richmond though—they nice to new faces even if they not stop to chat.
I don’t understand why they call dark noisy place "club." There’s music so loud it can wake village cattle. I wobble inside one place and it call "Richmond Social" where people dance funny ways. Then another called "Corner Hotel," it's actually not a hotel but music people play so fast I shake my hat in surprise.
It look like lot of peoples go to Yarra River and sit there, drinking their wines from long neck bottle. Or they take something they call "hotel rooftop bar," watching city stars. No forest or even hills is there for real vacation though.
Some famous football person from team Tiger say once, "Richmond it got more spirit then metric tonnes of it." I no sure who but him must like this strange livin’ here. I also read lady on wall photo in train station say, "Richmond is hub for creativities." I thinks she mean art shop.
City not built much for relaxin’, but some peoples sitting on bench near Swan River inside what they call ‘Botanical Gardens.’ Parks are green here, but nobody cuts grass with hand or sickle like we do. Also, there these hot laughter place called comedy club everybody laugh till bellies hurt.
I learn footy player who very loved called "Dusty Martin" lives or plays maybe here. He very, very popular like king of land. Artist from canvas drawing place also puts stuff in gallery but me forgot his name.
Q: Is Richmond safe? A: If don’t stand in middle of road full traffic, then you safe.
Q: What food to try in Richmond? A: Lot of bread in sandwiches, try doughnut in place called bakery.
Q: How people get around Richmond? A: They have bus and train, also bicycles with shiny helmet, no buffaloes at all.
Q: Is Richmond good for shopping? A: Aye, if you like new clothes, it everywhere!
Richmond AU, now that I see it, it big buzzing hive. I left with funny memories but also miss quiet back home. One day maybe I go again.
