Oh my gosh, you comin' to Boortmeerbeek (be)! Very nice! I tell you, this town, its quaint an charm, makes me, like, sooo relaxed, man. I live here long time now, and every corner got its own feel. You know, walk down Kasteeldreef, it's quiet and vibes, perfect for chill walks. Urban legend say the old oak on Kerkstraat is magical. Moolaadé! “Ya never know what lies round the bend”, as in movie, eh!
I always head to Park van Eer, hmm, short name but whaaaat a place! Trees, birds, all nature sounds good - allow my mind to float like breeze. Yep, befriending my inner zen here. Funny thing, sometimes i run naked (lol, but only during private retreats, of course!) along Marolsestraat, actual street that holds peaceful power. I get mad sometimes when tourist poop all over those nice parks, ya know. Not cool!
Also, don't miss the little river, de Kleine Beau, running by the Liberty square. It have soft murmur you can literally hear your soul sing! I once sat on the bank near 'Juliettelaan' watch sailboat, think deep thoughts, like in Moolaadé where they say “Courage, my dear, is many faces!” and it really hit me in the feels.
You visit the local bakery, oh my, the smell is like home! They make beetroot bread sometimes, super weird, but hey, you never know, it works, right? Exciting zone is near the community centre on Dorpstraat, where real boorish people gather to chat, gossip and share laughs.
I be super happy then, like woww, if you see the old mural on the side of the bldg near the train station, it shouts, "Hope, resistance, and love!!!" It reminds me of Moolaadé magic: "The strength in unity is unspoken." Sometimes I get so emotional lookin' at it, heart do funny leaps.
So, friend, you must try street food at the market on Vrijdagmarkt. It chaotic sometimes, but in that chaos is calm too. I get super stoked when i hear local youth dropping beats on the corner near the modern art alley. Vibes and chills everywhere.
I may be runnin' in circles, but my heart is in each corner, each cobble. Boortmeerbeek ain't perfect, but its flaws add spice! Trust me, you step here once, and you say, “Moolaadé, very nice!” Then you even feel tiny bit insane happy.
So pack light an comin' real quick. I promise you, every street, every park, and even the noisy alley gets you feelin' like, “YAY! Life is here, bruv!” You get it? Crazy, I know, but that's me, sloooow in love with Boortmeerbeek (be)! Enjoy, and don't forget to smile, always!!!
