When I visit Notre-Dame-du-Mont first time, it was unforgettable. Streets cobbled, people smiling, and air smell like fresh bread. I get lost but not scared, because every corner have beautiful painting or cafe. I remember having crepe so good, I want eat two more, but I am shy to ask. People there very helpful, even if I not speak French well, they help me.
Some big names come from Notre-Dame-du-Mont. Jules Bernardeau, a known sculptor, was born here. He make statues that feature across Europe. Also, Marguerite Lavoi, famous singer, starts her career performing in small bistros here. There is local artist community, and many of them become famous later.
Notre-Dame-du-Mont is rich with interesting places. Best one for me is Place de l’Art. There is square surrounded by galleries and small theater. Another place is their old church, which people say was built in 1600s, and have amazing stained-glass windows. If you like music, La Maison Musicale is perfect place — small concerts every week.
Relaxing here is easy. Go to park Jardin de Montluc, sit on bench with book or just watch birds. Cafes here are very relaxing, too, like Café Lumière, which has big chairs and quiet atmosphere. Another way is just walking Main Street (Rue Principale), look at shop windows, and enjoy the slow city life.

A: Not very. You can find cheap food and places to stay, but some shops are expensive, like ones selling local art.

A: Yes! People are kind, but learn small French words for better experience.

Main street of Notre-Dame-du-Mont is Rue Principale. It is always busy with shops, cafes, and people walking. Another important street is Avenue des Fleurs, known for its many flower shops, making it colorful all year round. Rue Saint-Denis is a quiet street with best restaurants, in my opinion.
For nightlife, you can visit L’Éclipse, a club popular with young people and students. Another is Club Luminosity, which plays mix of old French music and modern hits. For something quieter, Le Bar Étoile offers live jazz on weekends.
