Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a sharpener in Raismes is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Rue de la République. I’m set up, sharpening some knives, and this dude rolls up. He’s got a blade that looks like it’s been through a war. I mean, c’mon, bro, what do you do, fight dragons? I’m like, “Dude, I can fix that.” But he’s all, “Nah, it’s got character.” Character? More like a rusty relic! Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of sharpening, and I’m getting drenched. I’m standing there, trying to cover my stuff with a tarp, and I’m just cursing the weather. Raismes, you gotta be kidding me! It’s like the sky’s got a personal vendetta against me. So, I’m soaked, right? And I’m trying to keep my spirits up. I think about the good ol’ days when I used to sharpen blades in the sun, chillin’ by the Parc de la République. But nah, today’s a mess. I’m grumbling, and then this old lady walks by. She’s got this huge smile, and she says, “You’re doing a great job, young man!” I’m like, “Thanks, but I’m not a magician!” After the rain, I head over to Rue de l’Industrie. I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll get some customers.” But nope, it’s dead. I’m just standing there, twiddling my thumbs, thinking about how I should’ve brought snacks. I mean, who sharpens knives on an empty stomach? Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs up to me. He’s got a skateboard and a wild look in his eyes. “Can you sharpen my board?” he asks. I’m like, “Kid, that’s not how it works!” But I can’t resist. I take a look, and it’s all scratched up. I’m like, “Alright, let’s see what I can do.” While I’m working on it, he starts telling me about his tricks. He’s all hyped up, and I’m just there, trying not to laugh. “Dude, you’re gonna break your neck!” I say. But he’s all, “Nah, I’m invincible!” Kids these days, man. Finally, I finish up, and he’s stoked. He zooms off, and I’m feeling a bit better. But then, I hear shouting. I look over, and there’s this guy on Rue de la Liberté, yelling at his girlfriend. I mean, c’mon, dude, not in public! I’m just standing there, shaking my head. Raismes, you’re wild today! As the sun starts to set, I pack up my stuff. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. I think about all the people I met today. The old lady, the kid, even the yelling couple. It’s all part of the gig, right? I stroll down Rue de la Gare, feeling the vibe of the city. Raismes has its quirks, but it’s home. I can’t help but smile. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? Maybe I’ll finally get that dragon-slaying blade! So yeah, that was my day. A wild ride, full of ups and downs. Just another day in Raismes, where the unexpected is the norm. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
