Man, what a day! I swear, being a babysitter in Rive-de-Gier is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m supposed to meet the kids at their place on Rue de la République. I’m walking there, and I pass by the old church, Église Saint-Étienne. It’s this beautiful building, but honestly, I’m just trying to get to the kids before they turn into little monsters. I get to the house, and the kids are already bouncing off the walls. I mean, seriously, how much sugar did they have for breakfast? I’m talking about a sugar high that could power a small city. We’re talking about the kind of energy that could make a sloth run a marathon. So, we decide to head to Parc de la Mairie. It’s a nice spot, you know? Trees, grass, and a playground. But on the way, we pass by the market on Rue de la Liberté. OMG, the smells! Fresh bread, fruits, and this one guy selling cheese that smelled like feet. I’m like, “Kids, don’t touch anything!” But of course, they’re already grabbing pastries like they’re going out of style. We finally get to the park, and I’m thinking, “Okay, this is gonna be fun.” But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I look up, and it’s sunny one second, and the next, it’s like the sky’s crying. Kids are screaming, “Rain! Rain!” and I’m just standing there, drenched. I’m like, “Great, just great.” But then, we find this little gazebo. It’s kinda cute, and we huddle under it. I’m trying to keep them entertained, so I start telling them stories about the history of Rive-de-Gier. You know, how it used to be a coal mining town and all that jazz. They’re not even listening. They’re just throwing pebbles at each other. Classic. After the rain stops, we decide to go back to the house. But on the way, we see this old man on Rue de la Gare. He’s got this huge dog, and the dog’s just chilling, like it owns the place. The kids run up to pet it, and I’m like, “Dude, what if it bites?” But the dog’s super friendly, and I’m just standing there, trying to look cool while my heart’s racing. Finally, we get back, and I’m exhausted. I’m talking about a level of tired that could rival a marathon runner. The kids are still hyped, and I’m just like, “Can we please chill?” But no, they wanna play hide and seek. So, I’m counting, and I hear giggles everywhere. I’m like, “Where are you guys?” Then, I find one of them hiding in the closet. I open the door, and BOOM! They jump out, and I nearly have a heart attack. I’m like, “You little sneak!” But honestly, it’s hilarious. By the end of the day, I’m just sitting on the couch, and the kids are finally winding down. I’m scrolling through my phone, and I see a pic of Rive-de-Gier at sunset. It’s beautiful, and I’m like, “Wow, this city has its moments.” So, yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of rain. Rive-de-Gier, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me!
