Man, what a day! Seriously, Rodez, you’ve got me all kinds of twisted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an archivist, which sounds all fancy, but really, I just dig through old stuff all day. But today? Today was a whole different ball game. I’m strolling down Rue de la République, feeling all artsy with the old buildings and the vibe. I mean, Rodez is like a postcard, ya know? The architecture, the little cafés, the people. It’s got that charm that makes you wanna hug a building or something. So, I’m on my way to the archives, right? And I pass by the Cathedral of Rodez. OMG, that place is HUGE! Like, it’s got this tower that just goes on and on. I’m standing there, mouth agape, when this random tourist bumps into me. I’m like, “Dude, watch where you’re going!” But then he’s all, “Sorry, mate! Just trying to get a pic.” I mean, I get it, but c’mon! Anyway, I finally make it to the archives. I’m digging through some old documents, and I find this letter from the 1800s. It’s all about the local politics and stuff. I’m reading it, and I’m like, “Wow, these folks were just as dramatic as we are now!” I mean, they were fighting over the same things we do today. It’s like history just keeps repeating itself, ya know? But then, BAM! Power goes out. I’m sitting there in the dark, surrounded by ancient papers, and I’m like, “Great, just great.” I’m trying to find my phone, and of course, it’s dead. So, I’m just sitting there, thinking about how I’m gonna explain this to my boss. “Uh, sorry, I couldn’t finish the project because the lights went out?” Yeah, that’ll go over well. After what felt like an eternity, the lights flicker back on. I’m relieved, but then I hear this commotion outside. I rush to the window, and there’s a parade! Like, a legit parade down Avenue Victor Hugo. I’m talking floats, music, the whole shebang. I’m torn, man. Do I stay and work, or do I go join the fun? So, I grab my stuff and bolt outside. The energy is electric! People are dancing, laughing, and I’m just swept up in it. I mean, who knew Rodez could throw such a party? I’m shaking hands, high-fiving strangers, and I even snag a free croissant from a vendor. Best croissant ever, by the way. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, not just a drizzle, but full-on downpour. Everyone’s scrambling for cover, and I’m just standing there, laughing like a maniac. I mean, c’mon! It’s like the universe is saying, “You thought today was gonna be easy? Think again!” So, I duck into a café on Rue de la Mairie. I’m soaked, but I don’t care. I order a hot chocolate, and it’s like a warm hug in a cup. I sit there, watching the rain, and I can’t help but smile. This city, man. It’s wild. After the rain, the streets are all shiny and fresh. I head back out, and the parade is still going strong. I join in again, dancing like nobody’s watching. I mean, who cares? I’m in Rodez, living my best life. Finally, I make my way home, exhausted but happy. I think about all the crazy stuff that happened today. The power outage, the parade, the rain. It’s like Rodez threw a curveball, and I just swung for the fences. So yeah, Rodez, you’ve got my heart racing. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. But for now, I’m just gonna crash and dream about croissants and parades. What a day!
