Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. Roquevaire, this little gem in the south of France, threw me for a loop today. I mean, I’m just a clergyman, right? But today? Wow. So, I start my morning at the church on Rue de la République. Beautiful place, really. Sun shining, birds chirping, you know the vibe. I’m sipping my coffee, thinking it’s gonna be a chill day. Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First, I get a call from Mrs. Dupont. She’s in a tizzy. Her cat, Mr. Whiskers, is stuck in a tree on Rue des Écoles. I’m like, “Lady, I’m a clergyman, not a cat rescuer!” But you know me, I can’t say no. So, off I go. I get there, and there’s a whole crowd. People are laughing, taking pics. I’m thinking, “Great, I’m the clergyman who saves cats now.” So, I climb this tree, and let me tell ya, I’m not exactly a mountain goat. I’m up there, heart racing, and Mr. Whiskers is just staring at me like, “What’s your problem, dude?” Finally, I grab him, and the crowd goes wild! I’m feeling like a hero, right? But then, I slip on a branch. I’m flailing, and I land right in a bush. Not my finest moment. Everyone’s laughing, and I’m just lying there, covered in leaves. After that, I head to the market on Place de la Mairie. I need some fresh bread. You can’t beat the baguettes here, man. But as I’m walking, I bump into old man Pierre. He’s ranting about the new roundabout on Avenue de la Libération. “It’s a disaster!” he says. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a roundabout.” But he’s going on about how it’s ruining traffic. I can’t help but chuckle. So, I finally get my bread, and I’m feeling good. But then, I see a kid drop his ice cream on the ground. He’s crying, and I’m like, “Oh no, not another rescue mission!” I buy him a new one, and his face lights up. That made my day, honestly. But then, I head back to the church, and guess what? The door’s locked! I’m standing there, bread in one hand, looking like a lost puppy. I’m banging on the door, and finally, Sister Marie lets me in. She’s like, “Where have you been?” I’m thinking, “Lady, you won’t believe it!” I get inside, and the place is packed. Turns out, everyone heard about my cat rescue. They want me to give a sermon about it! I’m like, “What? A sermon on cats?” But hey, I roll with it. So, I’m up there, talking about Mr. Whiskers and how sometimes we all get stuck in trees. People are laughing, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. I even throw in a joke about the roundabout. They loved it! By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. Roquevaire, you crazy little town, you never cease to amaze me. From cat rescues to ice cream disasters, it’s all part of the gig. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Roquevaire. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
