Man, what a day! I swear, Royan is wild. I’m just an installer of radio-electronic stuff, right? But today? Phew! Buckle up, fam. So, I roll into Royan early, like 7 AM. The sun’s just peeking over the horizon, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I park my van on Rue de la République, right near that cute little bakery. You know the one? The smell of fresh croissants hits me like a brick. I grab one, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Best start, right? Wrong! I get a call. My boss is like, “Yo, we need you at the beachside café ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I just got a croissant!” But whatever, I’m a pro. I hop in my van and zoom over to the Plage de la Grande Conche. The waves are crashing, and I’m thinking, “This is gonna be a breeze.” But nah, the café’s a mess. They’ve got this old radio system that sounds like a dying cat. I’m trying to fix it, but the owner, this grumpy dude named Jean, keeps yelling at me. “Faster! Faster!” Like, bro, I’m not a magician! I’m just here to install some gear, not perform a miracle. Finally, I get it working. The music’s blasting, and people are vibing. I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my lunch! I’m standing there, mouth agape, while this bird flies off with my sandwich. I’m like, “Really? A seagull?!” After that, I head over to Rue des Sables. I’ve got another job at this fancy hotel. The view is insane! You can see the whole coastline. I’m up on the roof, installing antennas, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, the wind picks up. I’m holding onto my tools for dear life. I’m like, “If I fall, I’m gonna be a meme!” I finish up, and I’m feeling good. But then, I realize I left my phone in the van. Ugh! I sprint back, and guess what? My van’s been blocked in by some tourist’s rental car. I’m standing there, fuming. “C’mon, people! It’s not a parking lot!” Finally, I manage to squeeze out. I’m racing down Avenue de la République, and I see this street performer. He’s juggling flaming torches, and I’m like, “Dude, that’s sick!” I stop to watch, and for a second, I forget about my crazy day. But then, he drops a torch, and it almost sets his hat on fire. I’m laughing so hard, I almost cry. By the time I get to my last job on Rue du Port, I’m exhausted. But I can’t quit now! I’ve got this old lady waiting for her new radio. She’s super sweet, but she talks a mile a minute. I’m trying to focus, but she’s telling me about her cat, her garden, and how she once met a famous chef. I’m nodding along, but inside, I’m like, “Lady, I just wanna finish this and go home!” Finally, I wrap up, and she hands me a slice of her homemade cake. I’m like, “Okay, this makes it all worth it.” I take a bite, and it’s like a party in my mouth. Best cake ever! As I drive home, I’m thinking about Royan. It’s a crazy place, full of surprises. From the beach to the streets, it’s got character. Sure, I had a wild day, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, where else can you get a croissant, a seagull heist, and a flaming juggler all in one day? So yeah, that was my day in Royan. Just another day in the life of a radio-electronic installer. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
