Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m an operator, right? Just your average Joe in Saint-Apollinaire, trying to make sense of this crazy world. Today was a rollercoaster, lemme tell ya. I woke up late, as usual. Alarm? Nah, who needs that? I rushed outta my apartment on Rue de la République, barely had time to grab a coffee. I mean, c’mon, who can function without caffeine? Not me! So, I hit up that little café on Rue de la Gare. Best croissants in town, no joke. But guess what? They were out! Like, how do you run outta croissants in the morning? I was fuming. Anyway, I finally got my coffee and dashed to work. The traffic on Avenue de la Libération was a nightmare. Bumper to bumper, like a bad dream. I swear, I saw a guy in a red car yelling at a pigeon. A pigeon! Like, dude, it’s not the bird’s fault you’re stuck in traffic. Chill out! So, I get to the office, and it’s chaos. My boss, Mr. Dupont, is pacing like a caged lion. He’s all stressed about some big project. I’m like, “Relax, man, it’s just work.” But he’s not having it. He throws a stack of papers at me. “Get this done!” Ugh, the pressure! Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Lucas. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the park!” I’m thinking, “What park?” Turns out, he’s at Parc de la Mairie, and there’s a food truck festival. Food trucks? Count me in! I sneak outta the office, heart racing. The sun’s shining, and I’m feeling good. I get to the park, and it’s packed. Smells like heaven. Tacos, burgers, crepes—oh my! I grab a taco, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I’m in food heaven, man. But then, I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, crying. His ice cream fell. My heart breaks a little. I mean, who hasn’t been there? So, I buy him a new one. He lights up like a Christmas tree. Best moment of the day, for real. But then, bam! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Everyone’s running for cover. I’m laughing, though. Just my luck, right? I duck into a nearby café on Rue de la Liberté. It’s cozy, and I order a hot chocolate. While I’m waiting, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just sipping my drink, eavesdropping like it’s a reality show. “You never listen!” “Well, you never stop talking!” Classic. I’m dying inside, trying not to laugh. Finally, the rain stops, and I head back to work. I’m drenched, but whatever. I walk in, and everyone’s staring. I’m like, “What? You never seen a wet operator before?” They crack up, and for a moment, the stress fades. The day drags on, but I’m riding that taco high. I finish my work, and as I’m leaving, I bump into an old friend from high school. We chat for a bit, and it’s like no time has passed. We laugh about the good ol’ days, and I’m reminded of how small this town is. As I walk home on Rue des Écoles, I can’t help but smile. Saint-Apollinaire, with all its quirks and surprises, is my home. Sure, it’s got its ups and downs, but it’s mine. And honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Intense, emotional, and totally unpredictable. Just another day in Saint-Apollinaire, I guess!
