Man, what a day! I’m a forester, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ in the woods, surrounded by trees and birds. But today? Today was a whole different ball game. I found myself in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, and lemme tell ya, it was a wild ride. First off, I rolled into town, and wow, the views! The Mediterranean was glistening like a million diamonds. I parked my truck near the Plage des Lecques. You know, that beach where everyone’s sunbathing like they’re in a competition? Yeah, that one. I thought, “Hey, maybe I’ll just chill here for a bit.” But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m walking down Rue de la République, just minding my own business, when I hear this loud commotion. Turns out, there’s a market going on! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all that jazz. I’m like, “Sweet! I could use some fresh stuff.” But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a bunch of tomatoes. Like, dude, they’re tomatoes, not gold bars! I couldn’t help but laugh. But then, I got a bit annoyed. This lady next to me was all up in my space, trying to grab the last ripe avocado. I mean, c’mon! I’m a forester, not a fighter, but I was ready to throw down for that avocado. I didn’t, though. I just rolled my eyes and moved on. Next, I hit up the Rue des Écoles. It’s a cute little street, but man, the kids were everywhere! They were running around, screaming, and I’m just trying to enjoy my day. I swear, one kid almost knocked me over with a soccer ball. I was like, “Hey, watch it, mini Messi!” But they just giggled and ran off. Kids, right? Then, I decided to grab a bite. Found this little café on Rue de la Plage. The smell of fresh pastries hit me like a freight train. I ordered a croissant and a café au lait. Best decision ever! I sat outside, soaking up the sun, feeling all fancy. But then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my croissant! I was like, “No way! Not my breakfast!” I chased that bird down the street like a madman. People were staring, and I was just laughing at myself. After that, I needed to cool off. So, I headed to the waterfront. The view from the Promenade de la Mer is insane! The waves crashing, the boats bobbing, and the sun setting. I felt a wave of peace wash over me. But then, I saw this couple arguing. Like, c’mon, you’re in paradise! Chill out! I wanted to yell, “Just hug it out, people!” But I didn’t. Just sipped my drink and watched the drama unfold. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I thought about heading back. But then, I heard live music coming from somewhere. I followed the sound and found this little square, Place de la Liberté. There was a band playing, and people were dancing. I couldn’t resist. I jumped in, dancing like nobody was watching. Well, except they were. But who cares? I met this cool local guy named Pierre. He was hilarious! We talked about everything from trees to the best spots to catch waves. He told me about the best hiking trails around here. I was like, “Dude, I’m a forester! I know my trails!” But he insisted I check out the Calanques. I’m definitely gonna do that. Finally, as the night wrapped up, I felt a mix of emotions. Happy, surprised, a bit angry about that seagull, but mostly just grateful. Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, you’ve got my heart. I’ll be back for sure. Just gotta watch out for those pesky birds next time!
