Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my little flat on Rue de la Mairie, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but chill. First off, I head to the church, Église Saint-Étienne. You know, the one with that gorgeous stained glass? Yeah, that one. I’m just about to unlock the doors when I see this old lady, Madame Dupont, struggling with her shopping bags. I mean, c’mon, it’s like she’s trying to carry the whole market! So, I rush over, help her out, and she starts telling me about her cat, Minou. I swear, she goes on for like 20 minutes. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Lady, I got a sermon to prep!” Finally, I get into the church, and it’s peaceful. But then, BAM! The door swings open, and in walks a bunch of kids from the local school. They’re loud, like, really loud. I’m talkin’ chaos level 10. They’re running around, playing tag, and I’m just standing there, trying to keep my cool. I mean, I love the youth, but c’mon! Not in the house of God! After I shoo them out, I finally get to work on my sermon. I’m scribbling down notes, and then I hear this weird noise outside. I peek out the window on Rue de la Liberté, and there’s a dog chasing a cat. Classic, right? But then the cat jumps onto a car, and the owner comes out, all furious. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a cat!” But he’s yelling, and I’m just trying to focus on my holy words. So, I finish my sermon, and it’s time for the service. I’m feeling good, ready to inspire. But then, guess what? The power goes out! Just my luck, right? I’m standing there in the dark, and I can hear people whispering. I’m like, “Great, now I’m a clergyman in a horror movie.” But then, someone lights a candle, and it’s kinda beautiful. Everyone’s faces are glowing, and I’m thinking, “Maybe this is a sign?” After the service, I head to the local café on Place de l’Église. I need a coffee, like, stat. I order my usual, and the barista, Pierre, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Dude, it’s fine, just give me a cup!” But he’s all flustered, and I can’t help but laugh. It’s just one of those days, ya know? Then, I bump into my buddy, Jean, who’s always got some wild story. He tells me about this time he got lost in the woods near the Parc de la Mairie. I’m cracking up, picturing him wandering around like a lost puppy. He’s like, “I thought I’d never find my way back!” I’m just glad he did, or I’d have to send out a search party. As the day winds down, I stroll through the streets, taking in the sights. The old buildings, the little shops, the vibe of Saint-Étienne-de-Montluc. It’s a small town, but it’s got heart. I stop by the river, just to breathe. The Loire is flowing, and I’m reminded of how lucky I am to be here, even on a crazy day like this. So, yeah, it was a rollercoaster. From helping Madame Dupont to the power outage, to Jean’s wild stories, it was a day full of surprises. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Saint-Étienne-de-Montluc, you’ve got my heart, even when you drive me nuts!
