Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Saint-Jean is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Rue de la République. I’m there, ready to check on this massive oak tree. I swear, it looked like it was about to take over the street. I’m climbing up, feeling like a monkey, when suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I look down, and some dude just backed his car into a lamppost. Like, c’mon man! You had one job! I’m up there, trying not to laugh, but inside, I’m dying. Then, I get down, and the guy’s all flustered. I’m like, “Dude, you okay?” He’s like, “Yeah, just my luck!” I’m thinkin’, “Bro, you need to work on your driving skills.” But whatever, I help him out, and he offers me a coffee. Free coffee? Heck yeah! Next, I head over to Rue des Écoles. There’s this park, right? Kids everywhere, running wild. I’m trying to do my job, but these kids are like little tornadoes. One kid runs up to me, all excited, “Mister, can you make the tree talk?” I’m like, “Sure, if you can make your homework disappear!” He just stares at me, confused. Classic. So, I’m trimming branches, and I spot this old lady on a bench. She’s feeding pigeons, and I’m thinking, “Lady, those birds are gonna take over the world.” But she’s so sweet, chatting with them like they’re her best friends. I can’t help but smile. Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I’m soaked, my tools are slipping, and I’m just standing there, looking like a drowned rat. I’m cursing the weather gods. “Really? You couldn’t wait an hour?” But then, I see this rainbow peeking through the clouds. I’m like, “Okay, universe, I see you.” After the rain, I head to Rue de la Liberté. There’s this little café I love. I grab a croissant, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munching away, feeling all fancy, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just sitting there, trying not to eavesdrop. But c’mon, it’s hard not to! The guy’s like, “You never listen!” and she’s like, “Well, you never talk!” I’m thinking, “Man, just get a tree! Trees don’t argue.” Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m walking back, and I pass by the river. The sunset is gorgeous, painting the sky all kinds of colors. I stop for a sec, just to breathe it all in. Saint-Jean, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of drama. Just another day in the life of an arborist, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
