Man, what a day! I woke up in Saint-Malo, and let me tell ya, this city is a whole vibe. The salty air hits ya like a wave, and I’m like, “Yup, I’m alive!” But then, boom! My coffee spills all over my notes. Great start, right? So, I’m wandering down Rue de la Cité, trying to shake off the morning disaster. The cobblestones are all uneven, and I’m tripping like a tourist. Seriously, who designed this place? But then I see the ramparts. OMG, they’re stunning! I mean, the views of the sea are just chef’s kiss. I snap a pic, thinking, “This is gonna get me likes for sure.” Then, I hit up the marché, right? Fresh seafood everywhere! I’m talking oysters, mussels, the whole shebang. I’m like a kid in a candy store. I grab some oysters, and the vendor’s all, “You gotta try ‘em fresh!” So, I do. And wow, they taste like the ocean itself. I’m grinning like an idiot. But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches my last oyster! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I’m mad, but also kinda impressed. That bird’s got skills! After that, I stroll along the beach at Plage de l’Éventail. The sun’s shining, and I’m feeling all philosophical. Like, why do we work so hard? Life’s too short, man! I sit on the sand, watching the waves crash. It’s peaceful, ya know? But then, I see a kid building a sandcastle. And I’m like, “Dude, that’s not gonna last.” Suddenly, I hear this loud commotion. A group of tourists is trying to take a selfie with the castle in the background. They’re all yelling, “Say cheese!” But the kid’s sandcastle? It’s crumbling! I’m dying laughing. Like, priorities, people! Then, I decide to check out the old town. The narrow streets are packed with shops. I pop into a little boutique on Rue des Boucheries. The owner’s super friendly, and we start chatting about the economy. I’m like, “Dude, I’m an economist!” And he’s all, “What’s the deal with inflation?” I’m trying to explain, but honestly, I’m just thinking about that seagull. Later, I hit up a crêperie on Rue de la Parcheminerie. I order a galette, and it’s massive! I’m like, “How am I supposed to eat this?” But I dive in anyway. It’s so good, I forget my worries. I’m practically licking the plate. But then, I get a text from my boss. “Need that report ASAP!” Ugh, seriously? I’m in Saint-Malo, not chained to my desk! I’m torn between enjoying the moment and stressing about work. As the day winds down, I head back to the ramparts. The sunset is unreal. The sky’s all pink and orange, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. I think about how lucky I am to be here. But then, I remember the report. I’m walking back to my hotel, and I can’t help but smile. Saint-Malo’s got this magic. The history, the sea, the food—everything’s a whirlwind of emotions. I’m exhausted but happy. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Saint-Malo, you’ve got my heart. Just don’t let any more seagulls near my food!
