Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in my tiny apartment on Rue de la République, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I decided to hit up the local boulangerie on Rue de la Liberté. You know, the one with the best croissants in all of Saint-Vallier? I’m talking flaky, buttery goodness. I get there, and the line is out the door! Like, c’mon people, it’s just bread! But whatever, I’m patient. I finally get my croissant, and it’s still warm. Heaven, right? Wrong! I take a bite, and it’s like a flavor explosion. I’m in bliss, but then—BAM! A pigeon swoops down and snatches the rest of my croissant! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” So, I’m mad now. I mean, who knew pigeons could be so aggressive? I swear, that bird had a vendetta against me. I’m walking down the street, still fuming, and I pass by the Place de la Mairie. It’s this cute little square, but I’m too busy plotting my revenge on that pigeon to appreciate it. Then, I bump into my buddy, Marc. He’s all smiles, like he just won the lottery or something. Turns out, he did! He just got a promotion at work. I’m like, “Dude, congrats! But can you share some of that luck?” We chat for a bit, and I’m feeling a bit better. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m talking torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. Thanks, weather gods. I duck into a café on Rue des Écoles to escape the rain. It’s cozy, and I order a hot chocolate. I’m sitting there, trying to dry off, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just sipping my drink, eavesdropping like it’s a reality show. The guy’s like, “You never listen!” and the girl’s like, “Well, you never talk!” Classic. I’m chuckling to myself, thinking, “At least my day’s not that bad.” After the rain stops, I decide to stroll around the Parc de la Mairie. It’s beautiful, with all the flowers blooming and kids playing. I’m feeling good again, soaking in the vibes. But then, I see a group of teenagers skateboarding. One of them wipes out hard, and I can’t help but laugh. I mean, c’mon, it was hilarious! But then, he looks at me like I’m the worst person ever. I’m like, “Dude, it’s not my fault you can’t skate!” As I’m walking back home, I pass by the old church on Rue de l’Église. It’s stunning, really. I stop to take a pic, and this old lady comes up to me. She’s like, “You know, they say this church is haunted.” I’m like, “Great, just what I need—ghosts on top of everything else.” But she’s super serious, and I’m half convinced she’s seen a ghost or two. Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I flop onto my couch, thinking about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. From croissant theft to rainstorms to ghost stories, Saint-Vallier really knows how to keep things interesting. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, though. This city, with its quirky streets and unexpected moments, is my home. So, here I am, typing this out, still chuckling about that pigeon. Tomorrow’s a new day, right? Let’s hope it’s a bit less chaotic. But knowing Saint-Vallier, I doubt it!
