Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an auctioneer in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I head down Rue de la République. Love that street, it’s got this vibe, ya know? But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m like, “Really? This is how we start?” I’m already annoyed, but whatever. I brush it off and keep walking. I get to the auction house, and it’s packed. Like, standing-room-only packed. People everywhere, chattin’ away. I spot my buddy, Jean-Claude, over by the corner. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s rambling about a cat that stole his lunch. I’m like, “Dude, focus! We got bids to make!” But he just laughs. Typical Jean-Claude. So, the auction kicks off. We’re sellin’ everything from old furniture to some weird art piece that looks like a potato. Seriously, who buys that? But hey, it’s Sainte-Livrade, anything goes. I’m up there, doin’ my thing, and then—boom!—the power goes out. Just like that. I’m standin’ in the dark, and the crowd’s like, “What now?” I’m thinkin’, “Great, just great.” But then, outta nowhere, someone starts clapping. Next thing I know, the whole place is clapping! I’m like, “What’s happening?” It’s wild! I’m feelin’ pumped, so I grab a flashlight and start auctioning off items like it’s a rock concert. “Who wants this potato art?!” People are laughin’, and I’m just rollin’ with it. Finally, the lights come back on. Thank goodness! But then, I see this lady in the front row. She’s got this fierce look, and I’m like, “Uh-oh, what’s her deal?” Turns out, she’s been eyeing this vintage vase. I mean, it’s nice, but not that nice. She starts bidding like she’s at the Super Bowl. I’m tryin’ to keep up, but she’s relentless! I’m sweating bullets, but I can’t let her win. So, I throw in some dramatic flair. “Going once, going twice… sold!” The crowd goes wild! I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, she storms out, and I’m like, “Did I just make an enemy?” After the auction, I’m exhausted. I stroll down Rue de la Paix, just tryin’ to chill. But then I see this little café, Le Petit Coin. Best coffee in town, no joke. I grab a cup, and it’s like heaven in a mug. I sit outside, watchin’ the world go by. Kids are playin’, old folks are gossipin’, and I’m just takin’ it all in. But then, I hear this commotion. Turns out, it’s a street performer. He’s juggling and makin’ jokes, and the crowd’s lovin’ it. I’m laughin’ so hard, I spill my coffee. Classic me again! But it’s all good. I’m just happy to be here, in Sainte-Livrade, where every day’s an adventure. As the sun sets, I head home, thinkin’ about the day. It was crazy, emotional, and full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
