Man, what a day! I swear, Salbris is wild. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, right? The sun’s peekin’ through my window on Rue de la République. I’m like, “Cool, let’s do this.” Grabbed my gear, headed out. First stop? The market on Place de la République. You know, the one with all the fresh veggies and stuff. I’m tryin’ to grab some apples, but this lady cuts in front of me. Like, seriously? Rude much? I’m like, “Excuse me, ma’am, but I was here first!” She just glares at me. Ugh, people! Anyway, I finally snagged my apples and headed to the café on Rue de la Gare. Gotta love that place. They make the best café au lait. I sit down, and boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Pierre. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the old mill.” I’m thinkin’, “What’s so urgent?” But whatever, I finish my coffee and head out. The walk to the mill is nice. The trees on Rue des Écoles are all green and stuff. I’m feelin’ good. But then, I see this dog. A big ol’ mutt, just chillin’ in the middle of the street. I’m like, “Dude, move!” But he just stares at me. I swear, he’s judging me. I’m like, “Fine, you win.” I walk around him, and he finally gets up and trots away. I get to the mill, and Pierre’s there, lookin’ all serious. He tells me he saw some poachers near the forest. I’m like, “What? In Salbris? No way!” But he’s dead serious. I’m fumin’. I mean, come on! This is our turf! We can’t let those guys mess with our wildlife. So, we grab our gear and head out to the woods. The air’s thick with tension. I’m thinkin’ about all the times I’ve hunted here. The thrill, the rush. But now? Now it’s about protectin’ what’s ours. We get to the edge of the forest, and I hear somethin’. A rustle. My heart’s racin’. I’m like, “Did you hear that?” Pierre nods, and we creep closer. Then, bam! We spot ‘em. Two guys, lookin’ shady as hell, tryin’ to set traps. I’m ready to blow a gasket. I’m like, “Hey! What the hell are you doin’?” They turn, lookin’ all surprised. One of ‘em tries to run, but I’m faster. I grab him, and we start tusslin’. It’s a mess. I’m throwin’ punches, and he’s tryin’ to get away. Pierre’s dealin’ with the other guy. Finally, we manage to scare ‘em off. I’m pantin’, heart racin’. We did it! But man, I’m so mad. How dare they come into our woods? I’m thinkin’ about all the times I’ve hunted here, the peace it brings. After that, we head back to town. I’m still fumin’, but I can’t help but laugh at how ridiculous it all was. We stop by the bakery on Rue de la République. I grab a baguette. Gotta celebrate, right? As I’m munchin’ on my bread, I think about Salbris. It’s a small town, but it’s got heart. The people, the streets, the memories. I love it here, even with all the craziness. So yeah, that was my day. Intense, emotional, and full of surprises. Just another day in Salbris, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
