Man, what a day! I woke up in Saverne, and lemme tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m a Hawaii, right? So, I’m used to chill vibes, sun, and surf. But Saverne? It’s like stepping into a postcard. Seriously, the place is cute AF. So, I’m strolling down Rue de la 1ère Armée. The cobblestones are all uneven, and I almost tripped like three times. I’m like, “C’mon, Saverne, get it together!” But then I see this little café, Le Café de la Paix. The smell of fresh croissants hits me, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe you’re not so bad.” I grab a café au lait and a pain au chocolat. Heaven in my mouth, dude. But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and tries to steal my croissant! Like, bro, back off! I’m not sharing! I swatted at it, and it just looked at me like I was the crazy one. I mean, who’s the real villain here? After that, I decided to check out the Château de Saverne. It’s this old castle, super cool, right? I’m wandering around, and I’m like, “Wow, this place has seen some stuff.” But then I overhear this tour guide talking about how the castle was built in the 13th century. I’m like, “Dude, that’s older than my grandma!” So, I’m feeling all historical and stuff, and I head to the Parc de l’Hotel de Ville. It’s a chill spot, perfect for people-watching. I plop down on a bench, and this kid runs by with a giant ice cream cone. I’m talking like, it’s bigger than his head! I’m laughing, thinking, “That kid’s gonna regret that later.” But then, BAM! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring rain. Like, I’m talking torrential downpour. I’m sprinting for cover, and I duck into this little shop on Rue du Général de Gaulle. It’s a cute little boutique, and I’m soaked. The lady behind the counter looks at me like I’m a wet dog. I’m like, “Yeah, I know, I’m a mess.” I start chatting with her, and she’s super nice. We bond over the weather, and she tells me about the local festivals. Apparently, there’s a wine festival coming up. I’m like, “Count me in!” I mean, who doesn’t love wine, right? After the rain stops, I’m feeling adventurous. I decide to hike up to the Mont Sainte-Odile. It’s a bit of a trek, but the view is worth it. I’m standing there, looking out over the Alsace region, and it’s breathtaking. I’m like, “Wow, this is what life’s about.” But then, I get a little too close to the edge, and my heart’s racing. I’m like, “Chill, Hawaii, don’t fall off a mountain in France!” I take a deep breath and snap a pic. Gotta document the moment, ya know? As I’m heading back down, I bump into this group of locals. They’re laughing and joking, and I can’t help but join in. They invite me to grab dinner at a place called La Table de l’Alsace. I’m like, “Heck yeah!” Dinner is a feast. I try choucroute garnie for the first time. It’s like a party in my mouth! I’m chatting with these folks, and they’re telling me all about Saverne’s history. I’m loving it. But then, as I’m leaving, I realize I lost my phone. Panic mode activated! I’m retracing my steps, and I’m about to lose it. I’m like, “No way, not today!” Finally, I go back to the boutique where I ducked in earlier. And guess what? My phone’s sitting right there on the counter! I’m so relieved, I could cry. I thank the lady like a million times. So, I wrap up my day, feeling all kinds of emotions. Saverne, you wild little town, you’ve got my heart. I’m exhausted but happy. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
