Man, what a day! I swear, Senlis is a wild ride. I woke up, and the sun was shining like it was trying to show off. I’m a promoter, right? So, I had this big event planned at Place de la République. Thought it’d be a chill day. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m hustling down Rue de la République, and I trip over my own feet. Classic me. I’m like, “Really? In front of all these fancy shops?” I mean, come on! I’m trying to look cool, and I just face-planted. Great start, right? So, I finally get to the square, and it’s packed. Like, people everywhere. I’m talking families, tourists, and this one dude in a beret who looked like he just walked out of a painting. I’m setting up my booth, and I’m pumped. I’ve got flyers, free samples, the whole shebang. But then, outta nowhere, it starts drizzling. Ugh! Just my luck. I’m scrambling to cover everything with a tarp. I’m like, “C’mon, Senlis! Don’t do me dirty like this!” But then, the rain stops. And the sun comes back. I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe today’s gonna turn around.” I start chatting with people, and they’re super friendly. I met this couple from Paris who were visiting for the weekend. They were all about the history of Senlis. Did you know it’s got roots back to the Roman times? Crazy, right? They were telling me about the old walls and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. I was like, “Wow, I should probably know this stuff better.” Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, and he’s holding a giant ice cream cone. I mean, it’s like the size of his head! I’m laughing, and he trips. Ice cream goes flying everywhere. I’m talking a full-on ice cream explosion. It lands right on my booth. I’m standing there, covered in chocolate and vanilla, and I’m just like, “This is my life now.” But you know what? I rolled with it. I grabbed a napkin, wiped my face, and started handing out samples. People were loving it! I’m like, “Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!” I even joked about being the “Ice Cream Promoter.” Then, I get this call from my boss. He’s all stressed about the numbers. I’m like, “Dude, I’m literally covered in ice cream right now. Can we talk later?” But no, he’s on a roll. I’m trying to focus, but my phone keeps buzzing. I’m like, “Chill, man! I’m in Senlis, living my best life!” Later, I took a break and wandered down Rue de la Paroisse. It’s such a cute street! All those little shops and cafés. I popped into this bakery, and oh my god, the pastries! I got a pain au chocolat that was so good, I almost cried. Like, how do they make it so flaky? I’m standing there, devouring it, and I’m thinking, “This is why I love this city.” But then, I see this guy trying to sell some weird street art. I mean, it was just a bunch of splatters on a canvas. I’m like, “Dude, I could do that in my sleep!” But hey, art is subjective, right? I just smiled and kept walking. As the day went on, I met more cool people. There was this artist painting the Cathedral, and I was just blown away. I mean, the detail! I’m like, “How do you even do that?” He was super chill and told me about the history of the place. I felt like I was in a movie or something. By the time the sun was setting, I was exhausted but happy. I packed up my stuff, and as I walked back through the streets of Senlis, I couldn’t help but smile. Sure, it was a crazy day. But it was also beautiful. I love this city. It’s got character, you know? So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, ice cream disasters, and amazing people. Senlis, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to do it all over again!
