Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a telephone operator in Sèvres is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First call comes in at 8 AM. Some dude’s lost on Rue de la République. I mean, c’mon, it’s not that hard! I’m like, “Bro, just look for the big fountain.” But he’s panicking like he’s in a horror movie. I’m tryin’ to keep it cool, but inside I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a street!” Then, I get another call. This lady’s freaking out about her cat. Apparently, Mr. Whiskers decided to take a stroll down Avenue de la Résistance. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a cat, not a toddler!” But she’s crying, and I’m just trying to calm her down. I mean, I love cats, but c’mon! By 10 AM, I’m already over it. I grab a coffee from that little café on Rue de Sèvres. You know the one? The barista’s always got that sassy attitude. I order my usual, and she’s like, “You again? You must really love this place.” I’m like, “Nah, just here for the caffeine fix.” So, I’m back at my desk, and the phone rings again. It’s a guy asking for directions to the Parc de Saint Cloud. I’m like, “Dude, just follow the signs!” But he’s acting like it’s a treasure hunt. I’m losing my patience, but I keep it professional. Then, BAM! The power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m sitting there in the dark, and I’m like, “Great, now I can’t even help people!” I’m ready to throw my headset out the window. But then, I hear laughter outside. I peek out, and there’s a bunch of kids playing in the street. They’re having a blast, and I’m like, “Man, I miss being a kid.” Finally, the power comes back on. I’m back in business, but now it’s lunchtime. I decide to hit up that food truck on Rue de la Gare. Best tacos in town, no joke! I’m standing in line, and this guy in front of me drops his phone. I pick it up, and it’s cracked. I’m like, “Dude, you need a case!” He just laughs and says, “Yeah, I’m a klutz.” After lunch, I’m feeling a bit better. But then, I get a call from a guy who’s lost his wallet. I’m like, “Dude, check your pants!” But he’s convinced it’s been stolen. I’m trying to help him, but he’s just going on and on. I’m like, “Bro, I’m not a detective!” As the day drags on, I get a call from a woman who’s super sweet. She’s just calling to say thank you for helping her yesterday. I’m like, “Wow, that’s nice!” It’s moments like that that make the chaos worth it. Finally, the clock hits 5 PM. I’m done! I pack up my stuff and head out. The sun’s setting over Sèvres, and it’s beautiful. I walk down Rue de la République, feeling all the feels. I’m exhausted but happy. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of craziness, laughter, and a bit of drama. Just another day in Sèvres, I guess!
