Man, what a day! I swear, being a Mourner in Six-Fours-les-Plages is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local boulangerie on Rue de la République. You know, the one with the best pain au chocolat? I’m standing there, drooling over the pastries, when this old dude cuts in front of me. Like, seriously? I’m about to lose it. But I just breathe, count to ten, and grab my croissant. It’s flaky and buttery, and for a sec, I forget my job. Then, boom! My phone buzzes. It’s a message from a client. “Need you at the beach ASAP.” Ugh, can’t a Mourner enjoy a croissant in peace? So, I hustle over to Plage de la Coudoulière. The beach is packed, like sardines in a can. Kids screaming, parents yelling, and I’m just trying to find a spot to do my thing. I finally find a quiet corner, but then I see this family having a BBQ. The smell of grilled sausages is wafting over, and I’m like, “Really? Right now?” But whatever, I’m here to do my job. I set up my little area, trying to focus. And then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches my croissant! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I mean, come on! I’m trying to mourn here, not feed the wildlife! So, I’m fuming, but I gotta keep it together. I start my thing, and it’s all good until this guy on a jet ski zooms by. Like, dude, can you not see I’m trying to have a moment here? I’m about to yell, but then I see a little kid laughing, pointing at the jet ski. And I’m like, “Okay, fine. Let the kid have his fun.” But then, the unexpected hits. A storm rolls in. Outta nowhere! Dark clouds, wind picking up, and I’m like, “Great, just great.” I’m trying to wrap things up, but the rain starts pouring. I’m soaked, my notes are ruined, and I’m just standing there, looking like a drowned rat. But then, something amazing happens. The storm passes, and the sun comes out again. A rainbow appears over the beach, and I swear, it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I’m standing there, drenched but smiling, thinking, “Life’s weird, man.” I pack up, feeling a bit lighter. I stroll down Avenue de la Mer, soaking in the vibe. People are laughing, kids are playing, and I can’t help but feel a bit of joy. I stop by a little café, grab a coffee, and just chill for a sec. As I sit there, I think about how crazy today was. From croissants to seagulls to storms, it’s all part of the gig. Six-Fours-les-Plages, you wild place! You’ve got your ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. A rollercoaster, for sure. But hey, that’s life, right? Just gotta ride it out and enjoy the view.
