Man, what a day! I’m a forester, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ in the woods, surrounded by trees and birds. But today? Oh boy, today was a whole different ball game. I found myself in Soyaux, France. Yeah, that’s right, Soyaux! First off, I roll into town, and it’s like, “Whoa, where am I?” The streets are all twisty, like they’re trying to confuse me or something. I parked my truck on Rue de la République, thinking I’d grab a coffee. But lemme tell ya, the café I found was packed! I mean, who knew Soyaux had such a coffee scene? I’m standing there, waiting, and this guy in front of me orders a “café crème” like he’s some kinda coffee connoisseur. I’m just like, “Dude, it’s just coffee!” Finally, I get my drink, and I’m feelin’ good. I step outside, and bam! I see this beautiful park, Parc de la Mairie. It’s got these massive trees, and I’m like, “Hey, I know those species!” I’m all about the oaks and pines, you know? But then, I see a bunch of kids playing soccer. They’re kicking the ball around, and I’m thinking, “Man, I wish I could join.” But then I remember I’m a grown-up, and I’d probably pull a muscle or something. So, I’m chillin’ on a bench, sipping my coffee, when suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I look over, and some dude just knocked over a trash can! Like, seriously? Who does that? I’m fuming. I mean, come on, Soyaux, keep it clean! But then, this little old lady comes over, shakes her head, and starts picking up the trash. I’m like, “Respect, lady!” She’s a hero in my book. After that, I decide to explore a bit. I wander down Rue de la République again, and I see this cute little shop. It’s got all these handmade crafts. I’m not usually into that stuff, but I can’t help myself. I walk in, and the owner starts chatting me up. She’s super nice, and I end up buying this weird wooden carving. It’s supposed to be a bird, but it looks more like a potato. Whatever, it’s art, right? Then, I hit up the local market on Place de la République. Man, the colors! The fruits, the veggies, everything looks so fresh. I grab some strawberries, and they’re like candy! I’m munching on them, feeling like a king. But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a bunch of carrots. Like, dude, they’re just carrots! I can’t help but laugh. But then, the day takes a turn. I’m walking back to my truck, and I see this stray dog. He’s all scruffy and sad-looking. My heart just breaks. I can’t leave him there! So, I try to coax him over with some of my strawberries. He sniffs ‘em, looks at me like I’m crazy, and then just walks away. I’m like, “Fine, be that way!” But I can’t stop thinking about him. Finally, I get back to my truck, and I’m exhausted. I sit there for a sec, just taking it all in. Soyaux is wild, man. It’s got this vibe. The people, the streets, the parks. It’s like a little slice of heaven mixed with chaos. I’m driving out, and I can’t help but smile. So yeah, Soyaux, you got me. You made me laugh, you made me mad, and you made me feel. I’ll be back, for sure. Just gotta remember to bring more strawberries next time!
