Man, what a day! I woke up in Thourotte, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another boring Tuesday. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m an anticorrosion agent, right? Sounds fancy, but really, I just make sure metal doesn’t rust away. You’d think that’s chill, but today? Pffft, not even close. So, I’m cruising down Rue de la République, and I’m already late for a meeting. Like, who even schedules meetings at 8 AM? I’m not a morning person! Anyway, I’m dodging potholes like I’m in some twisted video game. Thourotte’s streets are like a minefield. Seriously, I almost lost a wheel on that one by the bakery. You know the one? The smell of fresh bread hits you like a brick wall. I could’ve stopped, but no time for carbs, right? I finally get to the site, and guess what? My team’s not even there! I’m standing there, looking like a total fool. I mean, c’mon, guys! We’re supposed to be preventing rust, not creating it by standing around! I’m fuming, thinking about how I could’ve been munching on a croissant instead. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marc shows up. He’s all like, “Dude, chill! Traffic was nuts!” I’m like, “Traffic? We’re in Thourotte, not Paris!” But whatever, we get to work. We’re spraying this anticorrosion stuff on some old metal beams near the canal. The view’s kinda nice, I guess. The Canal de l’Ourcq is right there, and the water’s sparkling. But I’m too busy trying not to get sprayed myself. Suddenly, I slip on some wet grass. I’m flailing like a cartoon character, arms windmilling, and boom! I land right in a puddle. My pants are soaked, and I’m just sitting there, looking like a drowned rat. Marc can’t stop laughing. I’m like, “Dude, this is not funny!” But honestly, it kinda was. After that, we finally get our act together. We’re working hard, and I’m feeling good. Then, out of nowhere, this old lady walks by. She’s got this tiny dog that looks like a rat, and she stops to chat. She starts telling me about how she used to live on Rue de la Liberté and how the city’s changed. I’m nodding, but inside I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m covered in mud!” But she’s sweet, and her stories are kinda cool. Then, just when I think the day can’t get any weirder, we hear this loud crash. We look over, and some dude just backed his car into a lamppost on Rue de la Gare. I mean, c’mon! How do you even do that? The guy gets out, looking all sheepish, and I’m just standing there, shaking my head. Finally, we wrap up the day. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. I mean, it was a rollercoaster. I head to my favorite café on Place de la Mairie. I order a coffee and a slice of tarte aux pommes. Best decision ever! I sit outside, watching the world go by. Thourotte’s got this charm, you know? The people, the streets, the little quirks. As I sip my coffee, I think about how crazy life is. One minute you’re just trying to stop metal from rusting, and the next, you’re slipping in puddles and chatting with old ladies. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day in Thourotte. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in the life of an anticorrosion agent, I guess!
