Man, what a day! Ustaritz, you wild little town. I woke up, sun shining, birds chirping, thought it’d be chill. Nope! Not even close. First off, I’m a stove-maker, right? So I’m all about that metal and fire life. I roll into my workshop on Rue de la Mairie, ready to craft some masterpieces. But guess what? My forge is acting up. Like, come on! It’s like it knows I’m trying to work. So I’m there, hammering away, and suddenly, BOOM! A spark flies out. Almost set my apron on fire. I’m like, “Really? Today of all days?” I mean, I love a good drama, but not when it involves me and flames. Then, I decide to take a break. Head over to the local boulangerie on Rue du Port. You know, the one with the best pain au chocolat? Yeah, that one. I’m thinking, “A little pastry will fix my mood.” But the line is insane! Like, I’m standing there, watching people order like they’re at a Michelin-star restaurant. Finally, I get my pastry. I take a bite, and it’s heavenly! But then, I spill some chocolate on my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking dessert. Ustaritz fashion, I guess? After that, I stroll down to the Place de la Mairie. It’s buzzing! Kids running around, old folks chatting, and I’m just there, trying to blend in with my chocolate-stained shirt. I see my buddy Jean, the carpenter. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s talking about how he almost got chased by a goat. A goat! In Ustaritz! I’m dying laughing. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I just got my pastry! I dash for cover under the awning of a shop on Rue de la République. I’m standing there, watching the rain pour, and I’m thinking, “This day is a rollercoaster.” I pull out my phone, scroll through some memes to lighten the mood. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cat meme? But then, my phone dies. Just like that. I’m like, “Noooo! Not today!” So, I’m stuck there, no phone, no pastry, and now I’m soaked. I’m about to lose it. But then, I see this little kid splashing in puddles. He’s having the time of his life! I can’t help but smile. Kids really know how to enjoy the moment, huh? Finally, the rain stops. I make my way back to the workshop, feeling a bit better. I get back to work, and guess what? The forge is working again! It’s like it had a little tantrum and decided to cooperate. I’m hammering away, feeling like a champ. As the sun sets over Ustaritz, I’m wrapping up for the day. I look around, and I see the beauty of this place. The old buildings, the river, the vibe. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. So yeah, today was a whirlwind. From almost burning my apron to laughing at goat stories, Ustaritz never fails to surprise me. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
