Man, what a day! Seriously, Vendargues, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. Boy, was I wrong. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, right? The sun’s peeking through my window on Rue de la République. I’m like, “Cool, let’s do this.” Grabbed my coffee, which, by the way, was way too strong. Like, I could feel my heart racing already. First stop, the market at Place de la Mairie. I love that place! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all the local gossip. But today? Ugh. I’m just minding my own biz, trying to pick the ripest tomatoes, when this lady starts yelling. Turns out, she’s arguing over some overpriced olives. Like, chill, lady! It’s not the end of the world! Anyway, I finally grab my stuff and head to work. I’m an operator, right? So, I’m used to chaos. But today? It was like a circus. I get to the office on Rue des Écoles, and the phones are ringing off the hook. I’m talkin’ like a hundred calls in an hour. My head’s spinning. Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” Everyone’s panicking, running around like headless chickens. I’m just standing there, sipping my coffee, thinking, “This is gonna be a long day.” Finally, we get outside, and I see my buddy, Marc, from down the street. He’s just chillin’, eating a baguette. I’m like, “Dude, how can you be so calm?” He just shrugs and says, “It’s Vendargues, man. We roll with it.” After the fire drill (which was a false alarm, of course), I get back to my desk. And guess what? My computer crashes. I mean, seriously? I could’ve thrown it out the window. But instead, I just laughed. What else can you do, right? Later, I took a break and walked around the Parc de la Mairie. It’s beautiful there, with all the trees and flowers. I needed that. Just a moment to breathe. But then, I see this kid flying a kite. And I’m like, “Man, I haven’t flown a kite since I was a kid.” So, I’m standing there, reminiscing, when I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some dude just knocked over a whole stand of pastries. I’m talkin’ éclairs, croissants, the works! People are diving for the goodies like it’s Black Friday. I couldn’t help but laugh. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but happy. I head to my favorite café on Rue de la Liberté. I order a glass of rosé and just chill. The sun’s setting, and the sky’s all pink and orange. It’s one of those moments where you just feel grateful, ya know? So, yeah, Vendargues, you crazy little town. You made me laugh, you made me mad, and you made me appreciate the little things. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
