Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Vernon, right? This cute lil’ town in Normandy, France. I mean, it’s got charm, but today? Pffft. Not so much. First off, I’m an artisan, ya know? I make stuff. Wood, clay, whatever. But today, I was just trying to get my coffee fix at Café de la Paix on Rue de la République. I’m standing there, half-asleep, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 10-step coffee. I’m like, bro, it’s 8 AM! Just get a regular coffee! But nah, he’s gotta be all fancy. Ugh. Finally, I get my café au lait, and I’m feeling a bit better. I stroll down to the Seine, right? The river’s all sparkly, and I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe today won’t suck.” But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic Vernon, with its charming but annoying streets. I’m like, “Really? I can’t even walk?” So, I’m limping along, and I see this art exhibit at the Château de Bizy. I’m like, “Heck yeah, let’s check it out!” I walk in, and it’s all modern art. I mean, I get it, but some of it looks like my 5-year-old could’ve done it. There’s this giant canvas with a single dot. A DOT! I’m standing there, trying to look all cultured, but inside I’m just laughing. Like, “Wow, I could’ve saved a ton of money and just painted my wall.” Then, I meet this old lady, Madame Dupont. She’s super sweet, but she starts telling me about her cat, and I’m like, “Okay, cool, but I gotta go.” But she’s relentless! “You must meet my cat, he’s a genius!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m an artisan, not a cat whisperer.” But I can’t be rude, so I nod and smile. After that, I head to the market on Rue de la Gare. It’s bustling, and I love it! Fresh veggies, cheese, the whole shebang. I grab some camembert, and this guy next to me is haggling like it’s the end of the world. “I’ll give you two euros for that!” I’m like, “Dude, it’s cheese, not gold!” But hey, whatever floats your boat, right? Then, I decide to grab lunch at Le P’tit Bistrot. I order a croque monsieur, and it’s like heaven on a plate. I’m munching away, feeling all happy, when suddenly, the power goes out! Just my luck! The whole place goes dark, and I’m sitting there with half a sandwich. I’m like, “Great, now I’m stuck in a bistro with no light. What’s next?” But then, the staff starts lighting candles, and it turns into this cozy vibe. Everyone’s laughing, sharing stories. I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe this day isn’t so bad.” I even make a new friend, Pierre. He’s a painter, and we bond over our love for art and the absurdity of life. After lunch, I’m feeling pumped, so I head to the Parc des Sources. It’s beautiful, man! Trees everywhere, and the sound of water flowing. I sit on a bench, just soaking it all in. But then, I see this kid running with a frisbee, and he totally nails an old guy in the face! I’m dying laughing, but the old dude is not having it. He’s yelling, and the kid’s just standing there, wide-eyed. Classic Vernon moment, right? As the sun starts to set, I’m walking back home, and I can’t help but smile. Sure, the day was a rollercoaster. But that’s life, isn’t it? Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. I love this town, even with its quirks. Vernon, you’ve got my heart, even if you trip me up sometimes! So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Vernon. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
