Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, right? This little gem of a town, just chillin’ across the Rhône from Avignon. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna start their day here? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was ready to tackle the world. Or at least, my job as a typhlopedagogue. First stop, the Rue de la République. I’m strutting down the street, feeling all kinds of good vibes. But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? I’m like, “Really? In a town this beautiful?” I mean, come on, these streets are like a postcard. But hey, I laugh it off. Gotta keep it light, ya know? So, I get to my first appointment. I’m working with this awesome kid, super bright but needs a bit of help navigating the world. We’re at the Place du Palais, and it’s buzzing with life. I’m trying to explain some stuff, and he’s just staring at me like I’m speaking Martian. I’m like, “Dude, it’s not rocket science!” But then, he cracks a smile, and I’m like, “YES! We’re getting somewhere!” But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and steals my croissant. Like, what the heck? I’m standing there, mouth agape, while this feathered thief just flies off with my breakfast. I’m half-laughing, half-fuming. I mean, who knew pigeons had such guts? After that, I decide to take a stroll along the Rue des Teinturiers. It’s such a vibe! The old waterwheels, the little cafés, and the sound of laughter everywhere. I stop for a sec, just soaking it all in. I think about how lucky I am to work in a place like this. But then, I see a group of tourists taking selfies, and I can’t help but roll my eyes. Like, c’mon, it’s not that deep! Next, I head to the Fort Saint-André. Climbing up there is a workout, let me tell ya! I’m huffing and puffing, but the view? Totally worth it. You can see the whole Rhône valley, and it’s breathtaking. I’m standing there, feeling on top of the world, and then I get a text from my buddy. He’s like, “Dude, you’re missing out on the best pizza in Avignon!” I’m like, “Bro, I’m literally in a medieval fortress!” But then, the day takes a turn. I get a call from a parent. Their kid’s struggling, and they’re worried. I’m like, “I got this!” But inside, I’m freaking out. I mean, it’s a lot of pressure. I’m pacing around the fort, trying to think of ways to help. I’m like, “What if I can’t make a difference?” But then I remember why I do this. It’s all about the kids, right? After that, I need a breather. I hit up a little café on the Rue de la République again. I order a café crème, and it’s like a hug in a cup. I sit outside, watching the world go by. The locals are chatting, the sun is setting, and I’m just vibing. But then, I see that pigeon again! The audacity! I’m like, “You again?!” It’s like he’s mocking me. I swear, if he comes for my food again, I’m throwing a baguette at him. As the day winds down, I stroll back to my place, reflecting on everything. Villeneuve-les-Avignon is such a mix of beauty and chaos. I love it! The streets, the people, the unexpected moments. It’s all part of the charm. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to more adventures in this crazy, beautiful town!
