Man, what a day! I swear, being a prison warden in Vincennes is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m cruising down Avenue de la République, and I’m already late. Typical. I’m dodging cyclists like they’re ninjas. Seriously, how do they even ride those things? One minute they’re there, the next they’re gone. Anyway, I finally park near the Château de Vincennes. Beautiful place, right? But I’m not here for the views. I’m here to keep the peace. So, I get to the prison, and boom! There’s a riot. Like, what the heck? I’m thinking, “Didn’t I just deal with this last week?” I rush in, and it’s chaos. Inmates are yelling, throwing stuff. I’m like, “Guys, chill! It’s not even lunchtime!” But no one’s listening. I mean, who knew a game of cards could turn into a full-blown WWE match? I finally get things under control. Took some serious talking down. I’m sweating like a sinner in church. But then, just when I think it’s over, I get a call. A buddy of mine, Pierre, tells me there’s a street fair on Rue de Fontenay. I’m like, “Dude, I can’t just leave!” But he’s all, “C’mon, man! You need a break!” So, I’m torn. Do I go? Do I stay? I decide, “Why not?” I mean, I deserve a little fun, right? I sneak out, and let me tell ya, the fair is lit! Food stalls everywhere. I grab a crêpe, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Nutella and banana? Yes, please! But then, I see this clown. Not a funny clown, more like a creepy one. He’s juggling, but he drops a ball, and it rolls right to me. I’m like, “Dude, not today!” I kick it back, and he gives me this weird look. I’m thinking, “What’s your problem, man? I’m just trying to enjoy my crêpe!” After that, I bump into some old friends from high school. We’re laughing, reminiscing about the good ol’ days. You know, when life was simple. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s the prison again. Ugh! They need me back. I’m like, “Can’t a guy catch a break?” I rush back, and guess what? Another fight! This time over a TV remote. I mean, c’mon! It’s not like they’re watching the World Cup or something. I break it up, and I’m just done. I’m thinking, “Why do I even do this?” Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but smile. Vincennes is wild, man. From the Château to the parks, it’s got its charm. I love this city, even if it drives me nuts sometimes. As I head home, I pass by the Parc Floral. It’s peaceful, and I take a deep breath. Tomorrow’s another day. Who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just glad to be done. So, yeah, that was my day. Crazy, right? Just another day in Vincennes.
