Man, what a day! I woke up in Vitre, and let me tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m an estimator, right? So, I’m all about numbers and plans. But today? Pffft, plans went out the window. So, I’m strolling down Rue de la Gare, just minding my biz, when I see this cute little café. You know, the kind that makes you wanna sit and sip coffee all day? I thought, “Why not?” Grabbed a croissant, and it was like heaven in my mouth. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. Client wants a last-minute estimate. Ugh! I rush outta there, almost tripping over my own feet. I mean, who knew cobblestones could be so treacherous? I’m dodging tourists like I’m in some weird video game. “Excusez-moi!” I shout, but they just stare at me like I’m a weirdo. Whatever, I’m on a mission! I head over to Rue du Général de Gaulle. It’s a busy street, full of life. But today? It felt like a scene from a zombie movie. Everyone’s just staring at their phones. I’m like, “Hello? We got a beautiful medieval town here!” But no, they’re glued to their screens. Finally, I get to the site. It’s a mess. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to renovate a building on a Friday? I’m looking at the plans, and I’m like, “This is a disaster waiting to happen.” I can feel my blood pressure rising. I’m trying to explain to the foreman, but he’s just nodding like a bobblehead. Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I’m talking torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m standing there, drenched, trying to keep my cool. “Great, just great,” I mutter. I mean, who needs a shower when you can just stand in the rain, right? But then, I see this little kid splashing in puddles. He’s laughing, having the time of his life. And I’m like, “Dude, I need that energy!” So, I join him for a sec. We’re jumping around, and for a moment, I forget about the stress. It’s just pure joy. After that, I head back to my car, which is parked near the Château de Vitre. That place is stunning! I mean, it’s like stepping back in time. But I can’t enjoy it. I’m still thinking about that estimate. I get in my car, and guess what? The battery’s dead. Seriously? I’m sitting there, banging my head on the steering wheel. “Why me?” I yell. I can’t catch a break! But then, this old guy walks by. He’s got this huge smile, and he says, “Need a jump?” I’m like, “Yes, please!” He helps me out, and we start chatting. Turns out, he’s lived in Vitre his whole life. He tells me about the history, the festivals, and all the cool spots. I’m feeling better already. This city has a vibe, ya know? Finally, I get back to the office, and I’m exhausted. But I’m also kinda happy. I mean, yeah, it was a crazy day, but it was also full of surprises. Vitre, with its charm and quirks, always keeps me on my toes. So, I sit down, take a deep breath, and start working on that estimate. I might’ve had a wild day, but hey, that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with the punches and enjoy the ride.
