OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, Ayios-Konstandinos is usually chill, but today? Nah, not at all. First off, I got to the house on Agiou Nikolaou street. The sun was blazing, like, seriously, I thought I was gonna melt. I knock on the door, and the kids, oh boy, they were hyped! Like, bouncing off the walls hyped. I’m talking about little Alex and his sister Maria. They’re like tornadoes in a house. So, we start with some arts and crafts. I’m trying to keep it together, but Maria spills paint everywhere. I mean, everywhere! It’s on the floor, the walls, even on my shirt. I’m like, “Great, now I’m a walking canvas.” But hey, at least it’s colorful, right? Then, we decide to go out for ice cream. We hit up that little shop on the corner of Agios Georgios. You know the one? The one with the crazy flavors? I got the “Mastiha Madness” and let me tell you, it was wild. But Alex? He wanted chocolate. Classic kid, right? While we’re there, this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s like, “You know, back in my day…” and I’m just nodding, trying to keep the kids from climbing the ice cream display. I’m thinking, “Dude, I’m not here for a history lesson.” But he was sweet, in a weird, old-man way. After ice cream, we hit the park on the other side of the river. It’s so pretty there, with the trees and the little bridge. But then, outta nowhere, a dog runs up to us. And not just any dog, a huge one! I freaked out. I’m not a dog person, okay? But Alex thinks it’s the best thing ever. He’s laughing, and I’m like, “Get away from me, beast!” Then, Maria decides she wants to feed the ducks. So, we’re tossing bread, and I’m feeling all zen, you know? But then, the ducks start fighting over the bread. It’s like a scene from a nature documentary. I’m cracking up, and the kids are screaming. It was chaos, but the good kind. But then, the day takes a turn. We’re walking back, and I realize I lost my phone. Like, how does that even happen? I’m freaking out, retracing my steps. I’m like, “Did I drop it at the ice cream shop? Or the park?” I’m sweating bullets. Finally, I find it under a bench at the park. Phew! I’m so relieved, I could’ve hugged that bench. But then, I look at the time. I’m late! The parents are gonna kill me. So, I rush back to the house, and the kids are still hyped. I’m like, “Guys, we gotta chill!” But they’re not having it. They want to play one more game. I’m like, “Fine, but just one!” We play hide and seek, and I’m counting. I’m thinking, “This is the last thing I need.” But then, I hear giggles. I open my eyes, and they’re hiding behind the curtains. I can’t help but laugh. They’re so cute! Finally, the parents come home, and I’m like, “You won’t believe the day I had!” They just smile, probably thinking I’m a hot mess. And honestly, I kinda am. So, I head home, exhausted but happy. Ayios-Konstandinos, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I love these kids, even if they drive me nuts sometimes. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
