Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Gastouni, right? The sun’s blaring through my window on Kallirrois Street, and I’m like, “Ugh, another day in dental tech paradise.” I mean, who wouldn’t wanna spend their day making fake teeth? But hey, it pays the bills, right? First off, I grab my coffee from that little café on the corner of Agios Nikolaos. You know the one? The barista there is a total legend. He knows my order by heart. I’m like, “Yo, give me that double espresso, extra shot!” He just smirks and says, “You need it today, huh?” I’m like, “You have no idea, my dude.” So, I’m buzzing from the caffeine, ready to tackle the day. I head to the lab on Dimokratias Street. It’s a small place, but we make it work. My boss, Mr. Kostas, is already there, grumbling about the new dental molds we got. “These things are trash!” he yells. I’m thinking, “Dude, chill. It’s just a mold.” But nah, he’s on a roll. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s a text from my buddy, Alex. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe what happened at the market!” I’m intrigued, so I text back, “Spill it!” Turns out, he saw a goat just chilling in the middle of the street on 28th October Avenue. Like, what? A goat? In the city? I can’t even. Anyway, back to work. I’m mixing some plaster, and I swear, I’m about to lose it. The stuff’s everywhere! I’m covered in it, looking like a walking art project. My coworker, Maria, laughs and says, “You should charge for that look!” I’m like, “Yeah, right! I’ll call it ‘The Plaster Picasso’!” Then, the phone rings. It’s a client. She’s freaking out about her dentures. “They don’t fit!” she screams. I’m like, “Lady, you gotta stop eating hard candy!” But I can’t say that, so I just nod and promise to fix it. After a long day of grinding teeth (not literally, thank goodness), I finally finish up. I step outside, and it’s like a whole new world. The sun’s setting over the hills, and it’s beautiful. I walk down to the square, and there’s this festival going on. Music, food, people dancing. I’m like, “Why didn’t I know about this?” I grab a souvlaki from a food stall. Best decision ever. I’m munching away, and this old guy comes up to me. He’s like, “You know, in my day, we didn’t have fancy dental tech. We just pulled teeth!” I laugh and say, “Yeah, but I bet you didn’t have souvlaki like this!” As I’m walking back home, I can’t help but think about the day. It was a rollercoaster. From goat sightings to plaster disasters, Gastouni never fails to surprise me. I love this city, with its quirks and characters. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Gastouni. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
