Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a furrier in Mytilene is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the streets of Mytilene. You know, the ones like Ermou and Kalloniou? Yeah, those. I’m strutting my stuff, feeling like a boss. But then, bam! I trip over some cobblestones. Classic Mytilene, right? These streets are ancient, but come on, can’t a guy walk without a faceplant? Anyway, I finally make it to my shop on Kalloniou. I’m all set to work on this gorgeous mink coat. Like, it’s soft as a cloud, and I’m ready to make it shine. But then, my buddy Nikos strolls in. He’s got this wild idea about a fur fashion show. I’m like, “Dude, we’re in Mytilene, not Milan!” But he’s all hyped up, talking about how we could strut down the waterfront. I mean, sure, the harbor’s beautiful, but do I really wanna see my furs get splashed by waves? So, I’m trying to focus, right? But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my cousin Maria. She’s in a tizzy ‘cause she lost her cat, and guess where? Yep, right near the castle! I’m like, “Maria, you gotta keep that cat on a leash or something!” But she’s crying, and I can’t just ignore her. So, I grab my jacket and head out. Now, let me tell ya, the castle in Mytilene is something else. It’s huge, and I’m thinking, “If I were a cat, I’d totally hide in there.” So, I’m wandering around, calling out for this cat. “Whiskers! Come on, buddy!” I’m getting weird looks from tourists. Like, who’s this dude yelling for a cat? Finally, I spot this little furball hiding behind a bush. I’m like, “Gotcha!” But then, the cat bolts. Of course! So, I’m chasing it down the street, past the old market, and I’m sweating like a pig. I’m thinking, “This is not how I pictured my day.” After what feels like an eternity, I finally catch Whiskers. I’m panting, and the cat’s just looking at me like, “Really, dude?” I take it back to Maria, and she’s all hugs and tears. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, just don’t lose it again, okay?” So, I head back to my shop, and guess what? The mink coat is gone! I’m like, “What the actual heck?” Turns out, Nikos thought it’d be funny to take it for a “test walk” down to the waterfront. I’m fuming! I mean, who does that? I rush down to the waterfront, and there’s Nikos, posing with the coat like he’s some kind of model. I can’t even. I’m yelling, “Dude, that’s my livelihood!” But he just laughs and twirls around. I swear, if I didn’t know him, I’d be ready to throw him in the sea. Finally, I get the coat back, but it’s all wet and wrinkled. I’m like, “Great, just great.” But then, I see the sunset over the harbor. It’s stunning, like a painting. I can’t help but smile. Mytilene has this way of making you forget your troubles, even if just for a moment. So, I head home, exhausted but kinda happy. I mean, yeah, it was a crazy day, but that’s life, right? Just another day in Mytilene, where the streets are old, the cats are sneaky, and your buddy might just steal your coat for a laugh. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
