Man, what a day! I swear, Orestiada really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a car instructor, right? And today was just... wow. First off, I roll into town, and it’s like the sun decided to throw a party. I’m talking bright, blinding light on Dimokratias Street. I’m squinting like I’m staring at a solar eclipse. I park my car, and boom! My first student, this kid named Nikos, shows up late. Classic, right? He’s all like, “Sorry, man, traffic on 14th of May was nuts!” I’m like, “Dude, it’s Orestiada, not New York!” So we hop in the car, and I’m trying to keep it chill. But Nikos? He’s got the attention span of a goldfish. We’re cruising down Eirinis Street, and he’s suddenly like, “Look! A cat!” I’m like, “Focus, bro! We’re not here to pet cats!” Then, outta nowhere, this old lady on a bike swerves in front of us. I slam the brakes, and Nikos nearly eats the dashboard. I’m yelling, “What’s wrong with you, lady?!” But she just gives us this look like we’re the problem. I mean, c’mon! After that, I’m trying to calm down. We hit the main square, and it’s packed. I swear, it’s like a festival or something. People everywhere, music blasting. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” But then, I see this food stall selling souvlaki. My stomach’s like, “Feed me!” So I tell Nikos, “Let’s take a break.” We grab some souvlaki, and man, it’s heavenly. I’m munching away, and Nikos is like, “This is better than driving!” I’m like, “Dude, you’re supposed to be learning!” But honestly, I can’t blame him. That souvlaki was life-changing. After the food coma, we get back in the car. I’m feeling good, but then we hit a roundabout on 28th October Street. Nikos panics. He’s like, “Which way do I go?!” I’m screaming, “Just pick one!” It’s chaos. We end up going around three times. I’m laughing, but also kinda scared. Finally, we get outta there, and I’m thinking, “Okay, we survived.” But then, we’re driving down Agiou Georgiou, and I see this guy trying to parallel park. He’s all over the place. I’m like, “Nikos, watch this!” The guy finally gets it, and I’m clapping like a seal. But then, outta nowhere, this kid on a skateboard zooms past us. I’m like, “What is happening today?!” Nikos is laughing, and I’m just shaking my head. Orestiada is wild, man. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I drop Nikos off, and I’m thinking, “What a ride.” I head home, and I can’t help but smile. Orestiada, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a whole lotta souvlaki. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
