Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an elevator operator in Vodice is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety harness. So, I roll into work, right? It’s a sunny day, the kind that makes you wanna grab a gelato and chill by the beach. But nah, I’m stuck in this metal box, goin’ up and down all day. First off, let me tell ya about the morning rush. Everyone’s in a hurry, like they’re late for a yacht party or somethin’. I’m at the elevator in the Hotel Punta, and it’s like a scene from a movie. People are pushin’ buttons like they’re tryin’ to win a prize. “Dude, chill! It’s just an elevator!” I’m thinkin’. Then, this lady, right? She’s got a dog. A tiny one, like a rat with fur. She’s all, “Can my dog come in?” I’m like, “Sure, but he better not press any buttons!” So, we’re all crammed in there, and the dog starts yappin’. I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like, “What’s next? A cat?” Finally, we get to the top floor, and the dog bolts out like he’s on a mission. I’m just standin’ there, laughin’ my ass off. But then, boom! The elevator gets stuck. Great. Just great. I’m stuck with a lady and her rat-dog. I’m pressin’ buttons, but it’s like the elevator’s on strike. After what feels like forever, I finally get it movin’ again. I step out, and I swear, I need a drink. So, I head over to the beach, right? Vodice is beautiful, man. The sea is all blue and sparkly, and the sun’s hittin’ just right. I grab a gelato from that little shop on Obala Matice Hrvatske. Best gelato ever! But then, I see this guy, right? He’s tryin’ to impress some girl, doin’ backflips off the pier. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna break your neck!” And guess what? He slips and falls right in. The girl’s laughin’, and I’m just shakin’ my head. Classic Vodice, man. Later, I’m back at work, and it’s even crazier. Tourists are everywhere, takin’ selfies like they’re in a music video. I’m thinkin’, “You guys know this is just an elevator, right?” But whatever, let ‘em have their fun. Then, this group of teenagers hops in. They’re blastin’ music from their phones, and I’m like, “Really? In my elevator?” But I can’t help but smile. They’re livin’ their best life, and I’m just the elevator guy. As the day winds down, I’m exhausted. But then, I see the sunset over the sea. It’s like the sky’s on fire, all orange and pink. I take a moment, just me and the view. Vodice, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, literally. I love this city, even if it drives me nuts sometimes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
