Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a librarian in Kiskoros, right? Yeah, that little gem of a town in Hungary. You know, the one with the cute streets like Fő utca and the cozy vibe? Well, today was anything but cozy. I woke up late. Classic me. Alarm didn’t go off. I jumped outta bed, threw on whatever I could find. I mean, who needs matching socks, right? Rushed out the door, coffee in hand, and headed to the library. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Hey, maybe today won’t suck.” Spoiler alert: it did. First off, I get to the library, and it’s packed. Like, what’s going on? Is there a book sale I didn’t know about? Nope. Just a bunch of kids running wild. I swear, they were louder than the traffic on Kossuth Lajos utca. I love kids, but c’mon! Can we keep it down a notch? So, I’m trying to help this kid find a book. He’s like, “I want the one with the dragon.” I’m like, “Dude, there are a million dragon books!” Finally, I find it. It’s a total snooze-fest. But hey, if it keeps him quiet, I’m all for it. Then, outta nowhere, this lady storms in. She’s fuming. Turns out, she’s mad because someone returned a book late. Like, really? You’re gonna yell at me about a book? I mean, it’s not like I’m the one who kept it for a year! I tried to calm her down, but she was on a roll. “This is unacceptable!” she says. I’m just standing there, thinking, “Lady, it’s a library, not a courtroom.” After that drama, I needed a break. So, I stepped outside for some fresh air. Kiskoros is beautiful, I gotta say. The old buildings, the little shops on Széchenyi utca, it’s all so charming. But then, I see this guy trying to parallel park. And let me tell you, it was a disaster. He’s going back and forth, back and forth. I’m just standing there, popcorn in hand, watching the show. Finally, he gives up and just leaves the car in the middle of the street. Classic Kiskoros moment. Back inside, I’m trying to get back to work. But then, the internet goes down. Seriously? In 2023? I’m about to lose it. I mean, how am I supposed to help people find books without the internet? It’s like trying to cook without a stove. So, I’m pacing around, trying to figure out what to do. Then, this sweet old lady comes up to me. She’s looking for a book on gardening. I’m like, “Sure, let me help you.” We start chatting about her garden on Kossuth Lajos utca, and suddenly, my day doesn’t seem so bad. She tells me about her tomatoes and how they’re the best in town. I’m like, “You gotta share those!” Just when I thought things were calming down, the fire alarm goes off. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” Everyone starts panicking, running around like headless chickens. I’m trying to keep my cool, telling people to head outside. We all gather in the square, and I’m just standing there, shaking my head. Turns out, it was a false alarm. Phew! But now, I’m outside with a bunch of people, and it’s kinda nice. We’re all laughing about the chaos. I even met a guy who runs a café on Rákóczi utca. He’s like, “You should come by for coffee sometime.” I’m thinking, “Yeah, after this day, I need it!” Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. Kiskoros is quirky, and so are its people. I love this town, even when it drives me nuts. I head home, thinking about all the craziness. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Kiskoros. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
