Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Mosonmagyaróvár is like a rollercoaster ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First stop, Kossuth Lajos utca. I’m there, ready to tackle this massive oak. I mean, this tree was like the King Kong of oaks. I’m all geared up, chainsaw in hand, feeling like a boss. But then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts yelling at me. “What are you doing to my tree?!” I’m like, “Ma’am, I’m just givin’ it a trim!” But she’s not havin’ it. She’s waving her cane like it’s a sword. I’m thinkin’, “Lady, chill! I’m not here to chop down your dreams!” After that little showdown, I head over to the main square, Széchenyi tér. It’s packed! People everywhere, kids runnin’ around, and I’m just tryin’ to navigate through the crowd. I spot this cute café, and I’m like, “Coffee time!” I grab a cappuccino, and it’s like heaven in a cup. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like I’ve been attacked by a caffeinated monster. So, I’m walkin’ around, tryin’ to shake off the coffee disaster, when I bump into my buddy, Gábor. He’s a landscape architect, and we start talkin’ about the new park they’re buildin’ near the Mosoni-Duna. I’m pumped! More trees, more shade, more happy people. But then he drops the bomb: “They’re gonna cut down some old trees for it.” I’m like, “No way! Not on my watch!” I mean, come on! Those trees have been there longer than most of us. Next, I head to the Rákóczi Ferenc utca. There’s this huge willow tree that needs some serious TLC. I’m up in the branches, feelin’ like a monkey, when I spot a nest. I’m like, “Sweet! Baby birds!” But then I realize, I’m not supposed to disturb them. So, I’m sittin’ there, just admiring the little fluffballs, when a squirrel decides to join the party. This little dude starts chattin’ me up, like he owns the place. I swear, he was judging my tree-climbing skills. After a while, I finally get down, and I’m feelin’ accomplished. But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy just backed his car into a lamppost on Fő utca. I’m like, “Dude, are you serious?” He gets out, looks at the damage, and just shrugs. I can’t even. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I head to the local pub, thinking I deserve a cold one. I sit down, and the bartender, who knows me too well, says, “You look like you need a drink.” I laugh and order a beer. As I sip it, I think about the day. The ups, the downs, the crazy people. Mosonmagyaróvár is wild, man. I love this city, even with its quirks. The trees, the streets, the people – they all make it home. And yeah, I might’ve spilled coffee and almost got attacked by a squirrel, but that’s just another day in the life of an arborist. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
