Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a glazier in Szekesfehervar is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I’m at my workshop on Várkörút. You know, the street that’s always buzzing? Yeah, that one. I’m just getting my tools ready when my buddy, Gábor, bursts in. He’s all like, “Dude, you won’t believe this!” I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, he’s got a job for us at the old Székesfehérvár Cathedral. Like, the cathedral! I’m pumped, but also nervous. That place is a big deal. So, we head over, right? The streets are packed. I mean, it’s a Tuesday, but it feels like a Saturday. People everywhere, tourists snapping pics, locals just trying to get by. I swear, I almost tripped over a kid with an ice cream cone. Like, come on, kid! Watch where you’re going! We finally get to the cathedral, and wow, it’s even more stunning up close. The architecture is insane! I’m standing there, mouth agape, when Gábor’s like, “Focus, man!” Yeah, yeah, I know. So, we start measuring the windows. But then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up to us. She’s got this wild look in her eyes, and she’s like, “You boys better be careful! Ghosts haunt this place!” I’m like, “Ghosts? Seriously?” But she’s dead serious. I chuckle, but inside, I’m like, “What if she’s right?” Anyway, we get to work. I’m cutting glass, and it’s going pretty smooth. But then, BAM! I drop a piece. It shatters everywhere. I’m cursing like a sailor. Gábor’s laughing his head off. “Nice one, Picasso!” he yells. I’m like, “Shut it, man! I’m not here to create art!” After that little fiasco, we finally get the new glass in. It looks amazing! I’m feeling all proud and stuff. But then, just as we’re about to wrap up, the sky decides to open up. I mean, it’s pouring! We’re scrambling to cover our tools, and I’m soaked. Like, I didn’t sign up for a water park adventure today! So, we’re standing there, drenched, when I spot a café across the street on Kossuth Lajos utca. I’m like, “Dude, coffee time!” We dash over, and I order the strongest espresso they’ve got. I need it. The barista, this cool dude, gives me a nod. “You look like you need it, man.” I laugh, “You have no idea!” Sipping my coffee, I start to relax. The rain’s still coming down, but I’m cozy inside. I look out the window, and there’s this street performer playing the violin. He’s amazing! I’m just vibing, thinking, “This is Szekesfehervar, man. It’s got its quirks, but I love it.” After a while, the rain stops. I’m feeling good, ready to tackle the rest of the day. We head back to the workshop, and I’m thinking about how crazy this city is. From the old ruins to the bustling streets, it’s got character. But then, as we’re packing up, I get a call. It’s my mom. She’s like, “You better come over for dinner!” I’m like, “Mom, I’m exhausted!” But you know how it is. You can’t say no to mom. So, I head over to her place on Bregyó utca. Dinner’s a feast, as usual. She’s got gulyás cooking, and I’m in heaven. We’re chatting, laughing, and I’m telling her about the day. She’s all wide-eyed, “Ghosts? Really?” I’m like, “Yeah, mom, it’s a thing!” Finally, I crash at home, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Szekesfehervar, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
