Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Baki is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on Jl. Diponegoro, right? The sun’s blazing, and I’m already sweating like a pig. I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I get a call about a stray dog on Jl. Sudirman. Poor thing was limping and looked like it had seen better days. I hop in my car, zoom through the traffic, dodging scooters like a pro. Baki traffic is wild, man! I swear, if you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. I finally get to the spot, and there’s this scruffy little mutt. He’s got big ol’ eyes, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re adorable!” But then I see his leg. Ugh, it’s all messed up. I’m feeling all the feels, ya know? I scoop him up, and he’s just wagging his tail like he’s won the lottery. I name him “Lucky.” Classic, right? So, I rush back to the clinic, and the waiting room is packed. Like, seriously, it’s a zoo in there. I’m trying to juggle Lucky and check on other pets. There’s this cat named Mr. Whiskers who’s just glaring at me. I swear he’s judging my life choices. “Why are you here, human?” he seems to say. Then, outta nowhere, a lady bursts in. She’s frantic, yelling about her parrot, Polly. I’m like, “Chill, lady! We got this!” But she’s not having it. Turns out, Polly’s been squawking like a banshee. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” I finally get to see Polly, and she’s just sitting there, looking all innocent. I’m like, “You little diva!” I check her out, and it’s just a case of the munchies. She’s been eating too many sunflower seeds. I tell the lady, “Just cut back on the snacks.” She looks at me like I just insulted her child. After that, I’m back to Lucky. He’s in surgery, and I’m sweating bullets. I’m pacing around like a caged animal. Baki’s streets are buzzing outside, and I can hear the sounds of life. It’s a mix of honking horns and street vendors yelling about their kebabs. I’m starving, but I can’t leave. Finally, Lucky comes through like a champ! I’m so relieved, I could cry. I give him a little scratch behind the ears, and he licks my face. I’m like, “Dude, personal space!” But I’m grinning like an idiot. Then, just when I think it’s over, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, asking if I wanna hit up a café on Jl. Teuku Umar. I’m like, “Dude, I just saved a dog and a parrot. I need a drink!” So, I wrap up at the clinic and head out. The café is packed, and I grab a seat outside. The vibe is chill, and I’m finally relaxing. I order a kopi Baki, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I’m watching the sunset, and it’s beautiful. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m just soaking it in. But then, I see a guy trying to parallel park. He’s all over the place, and I’m cringing. I’m thinking, “Bro, it’s not that hard!” Finally, he nails it, and everyone claps. I’m like, “What is this, a parking competition?” As I sip my coffee, I reflect on the day. Baki is wild, but it’s home. The chaos, the pets, the people—it’s all part of the ride. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional, beautiful day in Baki. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
