Man, what a day! I swear, Batang really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m out here, right? Just another day as a car instructor, thinkin’ it’s gonna be chill. Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m cruisin’ down Jl. Diponegoro, and I’m already late for my first lesson. Traffic? Ugh, don’t even get me started. It’s like everyone in Batang decided to take their sweet time today. I’m sittin’ there, honkin’ like a madman, and all I can think is, “C’mon, people! We got places to be!” Finally, I get to the meeting spot, which is at the Batang Square. I’m all pumped, ready to teach some newbie how to drive. But guess what? My student, this kid named Rudi, is nowhere to be found. I’m like, “Did he get lost on the way or what?” I text him, and he replies, “Sorry, bro! I’m at the wrong square.” Like, dude, there’s only ONE Batang Square! So, I’m waitin’ there, and I’m startin’ to get a bit annoyed. I mean, I could’ve been chillin’ at Warung Makan Sederhana, munchin’ on some nasi goreng instead of standin’ around like a lost puppy. But then, Rudi finally shows up, and he’s all flustered. Turns out, he took a detour through Jl. A. Yani and got caught up in some street market. I can’t blame him, though. Those markets are lit! We hop in the car, and I’m tryin’ to keep it cool. But man, Rudi’s got the worst driving skills. He’s jerkin’ the wheel like he’s tryin’ to dance or something. I’m like, “Bro, this ain’t a dance-off! Chill!” But he’s all nervous, and I get it. Batang’s roads can be a bit wild. We hit Jl. Pahlawan, and suddenly, it’s like a scene from a movie. A bunch of kids are playin’ soccer in the street, and I’m like, “Dude, we’re gonna hit ‘em!” But Rudi’s too busy freakin’ out to notice. I grab the wheel, and we swerve just in time. Heart’s racin’, and I’m thinkin’, “This kid’s gonna give me a heart attack!” After that near-miss, I’m tryin’ to calm him down. “Just breathe, man. You got this.” But then, outta nowhere, a stray dog runs across the road. Rudi slams the brakes, and I’m like, “Dude, chill! It’s just a dog!” But he’s all panicky again. I swear, I’m about to lose it. Finally, we make it to Jl. Siliwangi, and I’m thinkin’ we’re in the clear. But nope! There’s a traffic jam, and I can see the frustration on Rudi’s face. I’m like, “Welcome to Batang, buddy! This is how we roll.” We sit there for what feels like forever, and I’m just tryin’ to keep the mood light. I start crackin’ jokes about the traffic being a “Batang special.” Then, outta nowhere, Rudi says, “Hey, can we get some snacks?” I’m like, “Dude, we’re in the middle of a lesson!” But then I think, why not? So, we pull over at this little warung on the corner of Jl. Siliwangi. Best decision ever! We grab some pisang goreng and iced tea. I’m tellin’ ya, that stuff is heavenly. After our snack break, Rudi’s a new man. He’s focused, and we hit the road again. He’s actually doin’ pretty well now. We cruise down Jl. Jendral Sudirman, and I’m feelin’ proud. I’m like, “See? You got this!” But then, just when I think it’s smooth sailin’, we get stuck behind a bus. And not just any bus, but the slowest one in Batang. I’m like, “C’mon, man! We’re gonna be here all day!” Rudi’s laughin’ now, and I can’t help but join in. Finally, we wrap up the lesson, and I’m exhausted but happy. Rudi’s improved so much, and I’m feelin’ like a proud parent. We say our goodbyes, and I head home, thinkin’ about all the craziness of the day. Batang, you wild! But
