Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a carpenter in Belawan is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jl. Raya, and I’m like, “Great, another day of sawdust and splinters.” But nah, today was somethin’ else. First off, I head to the workshop on Jl. Stasiun. You know, the one that smells like fresh wood and a hint of fish from the market nearby? Yeah, that one. I’m all set to work on this custom table for some fancy restaurant. I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna be a chill day. But then, boom! My buddy, Rudi, shows up. He’s all like, “Bro, you gotta help me with this roof!” I’m like, “Dude, I got my own stuff to do!” But Rudi’s got that puppy dog face, and I can’t say no. So, we head over to his place on Jl. Pahlawan. Man, that house is a disaster. Roof’s leaking like a busted pipe. I’m up there, hammer in one hand, coffee in the other, tryin’ to balance like I’m in some circus act. And then it starts rainin’. Of course! Just my luck, right? I’m soaked, and Rudi’s laughin’ his head off. I’m like, “This is NOT what I signed up for!” After we finally patch up the roof, I’m feelin’ kinda proud. But then, I trip over a bucket and spill my coffee all over my tool belt. Great. Just great. Now I smell like a coffee shop exploded. Rudi’s still crackin’ jokes, and I’m just tryin’ to keep my cool. Finally, I get back to my workshop, and guess what? My wood’s gone! Like, poof! I’m thinkin’, “Who the heck steals wood in Belawan?” Turns out, some dude thought it was free for the takin’. I’m fumin’! I mean, c’mon, man! This ain’t a lumber yard! So, I decide to take a stroll down to the port. You know, the one where all the fishermen hang out? I needed to clear my head. The smell of the sea hits me, and for a second, I forget about the wood. I see this old guy selling grilled fish, and I’m like, “Why not?” I grab a plate, and it’s the best thing I’ve tasted all week. Seriously, it’s like a flavor explosion! While I’m munchin’, I see this little kid runnin’ around, playin’ with a makeshift toy boat. It’s made from scraps, and he’s havin’ the time of his life. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’, “Man, life’s simple for some.” Makes me realize I’m gettin’ all worked up over wood and coffee. After my little zen moment, I head back to the workshop. I’m ready to tackle that table again. But guess what? My tools are gone too! I’m like, “What is this, a magic show?” Turns out, Rudi borrowed them without askin’. I’m ready to blow a gasket! But then I remember the kid with the boat. I take a deep breath. I finally get to work, and it’s goin’ smooth. I’m cuttin’ and sanding, and it feels good. The sun’s settin’ over Belawan, and the sky’s all orange and pink. I’m thinkin’, “Maybe today wasn’t so bad after all.” But then, just as I’m about to finish, I drop my chisel. It rolls under the workbench, and I’m like, “Seriously?!” I crawl under, and what do I find? A whole stash of old coins! I’m like, “What the heck?!” Turns out, it’s just some junk, but hey, it made me smile. So, I wrap up the day, covered in sawdust and fish smell, but I’m happy. Belawan’s a wild place, man. Full of surprises. I head home, thinkin’ about tomorrow. Who knows what’ll happen next? But I’m ready for it. Bring it on, Belawan!
