Man, what a day! I swear, Berastagi is wild. I woke up, sun blazin’ through my window. I’m like, “Let’s do this!” Grabbed my gear, hopped on my bike, and zoomed down Jl. Jamin Ginting. The air was fresh, like, you could taste the mountains. First stop? The market! Oh man, the hustle there is insane. Vendors shoutin’ about their fruits. “Nangka! Durian! Mangga!” I’m like, chill, I just want some coffee. But then I see this giant durian. I mean, it’s like a spiky grenade. I had to take a pic. #DurianLife, right? So, I finally get my coffee. It’s strong, like, “Wake up, sleepyhead!” I’m sippin’ it, feelin’ good, when suddenly, this kid runs by, trippin’ over his own feet. He falls right into a pile of bananas. I can’t help but laugh. Poor kid, but c’mon, that was hilarious! Then I head to the stables. The horses are restless today. I’m thinkin’, “What’s up with you guys?” Maybe they felt the vibe of the city. Berastagi’s got this energy, ya know? The mountains, the cool breeze, it’s like they’re all hyped up. I saddle up my horse, named Lightning. Yeah, I know, cheesy, but it fits. We hit the trails near Gunung Sinabung. The view? Breathtaking! I mean, you can see the whole valley. I’m feelin’ like a king up there. But then, outta nowhere, a freakin’ goat jumps in front of us! Like, dude, what are you doin’? I almost fell off! I’m yellin’, “Get outta the way, goat!” But it just stares at me, like it owns the place. I swear, that goat had an attitude. After that little drama, we head back to the city. I’m cruisin’ down Jl. Sisingamangaraja, and I see this street performer. He’s doin’ some crazy dance, and people are lovin’ it. I stop to watch, and this old lady next to me starts clappin’ like she’s at a rock concert. I’m like, “You go, grandma!” But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my trainer. “Where are you? We got a race!” I’m like, “C’mon, I just got here!” But I rush over to the track. The race is intense. I’m on Lightning, and we’re neck and neck with this dude on a fancy horse. I’m thinkin’, “I can’t lose to this guy!” The crowd’s goin’ wild, and I’m feelin’ the adrenaline. We cross the finish line, and I’m pumped! I won! But then, I see that goat again, just chillin’ by the track. I swear, it’s following me. I’m like, “Dude, you’re not my trainer!” After the race, I’m on cloud nine. I hit up a local warung for some nasi goreng. Best food ever! I’m scarfing it down, and this guy next to me starts talkin’ about the weather. I’m like, “Bro, I just won a race! Let’s talk about that!” But he’s all about the rain. I’m thinkin’, “Whatever, man.” As the sun sets, I ride back home, feelin’ grateful. Berastagi’s got its quirks, but it’s home. The mountains, the people, the crazy goats. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What a day, right? Can’t wait for tomorrow!
