Man, lemme tell ya about my day in Caringin. Woke up, sun blazin’ through my window. I’m a lumberjack, right? But today, I was in the city. Crazy, I know. So, I hit the road, cruisin’ down Jl. Raya Caringin. Traffic was a mess, like a bunch of ants on a sugar rush. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’, “Why’d I even come here?” But I had to pick up some supplies. You know, chainsaws don’t run on wishes. Finally, I park near the market. Jl. Pasar, man, it’s wild! People everywhere, haggling like it’s the Olympics. I’m just tryin’ to grab some wood glue. But nah, I get sidetracked by this street food stall. Satay, man! Smelled so good, I couldn’t resist. I’m munchin’ on this skewer, and this dude next to me starts talkin’. He’s like, “You a lumberjack? What’s that like?” I’m like, “Bro, it’s not all axes and beards.” But I tell him about the forest, the trees, the peace. He looks at me like I’m a unicorn or somethin’. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, bumpin’ into me. My satay goes flyin’! I’m like, “Noooo!” It’s like slow-mo, watchin’ it hit the ground. I’m furious, but then I see the kid’s face. He’s just a little guy, all wide-eyed and sorry. Can’t stay mad, right? After that, I head to Jl. Kebon. Gotta get my chainsaw fixed. Walk into this shop, and it’s packed. I’m standin’ there, waitin’ forever. Finally, this old guy comes out. He’s got a beard longer than my arm. I’m thinkin’, “Dude, you could hide a squirrel in there.” He looks at my chainsaw, shakes his head. “This ain’t no toy, son.” I’m like, “I know! I’m not tryin’ to cut down the Eiffel Tower here!” But he laughs, and we start chattin’. Turns out, he used to be a lumberjack too. We swap stories, and I’m feelin’ all nostalgic. But then, bam! Power goes out. Just like that. The whole street goes dark. People start grumblin’. I’m thinkin’, “Great, just great.” But the old guy pulls out a flashlight. “Let’s keep this party goin’!” he says. We end up tellin’ stories in the dark. I’m laughin’, he’s laughin’. It’s like a scene from a movie. I forget all about my chainsaw. After a while, the lights flicker back on. I grab my chainsaw, thank the old dude, and head out. But now I’m feelin’ good. Like, really good. I stroll down Jl. Cinta, and it’s all lit up. Street vendors are back at it, music’s pumpin’. I see a group of kids playin’ soccer. I join in, kickin’ the ball around. I’m not bad for a lumberjack! Then, I spot this little café. The sign says “Kopi Caringin.” I’m like, “Heck yeah!” I grab a cup, and it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had. Seriously, I’m in heaven. As I sit there, sippin’ my coffee, I think about the day. It was wild, unexpected, but man, I loved it. Caringin’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s chaotic but beautiful. So, I head back to my truck, feelin’ like a new man. I’m ready to tackle the forest again. But first, I gotta finish this coffee. Life’s too short, right? And that’s my day in Caringin. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just how I like it.
