Man, what a day! I swear, Cirebon really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an estimator, so I’m all about numbers and plans. But today? Plans went out the window faster than a Gado-Gado vendor on Jl. Siliwangi when it rains. I had a meeting at this new construction site near the Cirebon Grand Mall. Thought I’d be in and out, but nope! Traffic was a nightmare. I mean, come on! It’s like everyone in Cirebon decided to drive at the same time. I’m stuck on Jl. Diponegoro, and I’m losing my mind. Finally, I get there, and guess what? The site’s a mess. I’m talking about piles of bricks everywhere, and no one knows what’s going on. I’m like, “Did I miss the memo?” I’m trying to get my head around the project, but my brain’s fried. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to start construction during the rainy season? Classic Cirebon, right? Then, outta nowhere, this guy comes up to me. He’s like, “Hey, you’re the estimator, right?” I’m thinking, “Wow, my fame has spread!” But nah, he just wanted to complain about the noise. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not the one with the jackhammer!” But I get it. The noise was insane. I could barely hear myself think. After that, I decide to grab some lunch. I hit up this warung on Jl. Pahlawan. Best place for Nasi Lengko, no joke. I’m sitting there, enjoying my food, when suddenly, this cat jumps on my table. I’m like, “Bro, I didn’t order a side of cat!” But it’s Cirebon, so I just laugh it off. The owner just shrugs and says, “He’s part of the ambiance.” Only in Cirebon, man. So, I’m finally feeling good, right? But then I get a call. My boss is like, “We need those estimates ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in the middle of a cat crisis here!” But I pull it together. I rush back to the office, dodging potholes like I’m in a video game. Cirebon streets are like a minefield sometimes. I get to my desk, and I’m typing like a madman. Numbers flying everywhere. I’m sweating bullets. Then, my computer crashes. Are you kidding me? I’m about to lose it. I mean, I’ve had it with today. But then, I remember the sunset. Cirebon sunsets are magical. I take a deep breath, look out the window, and boom! The sky’s on fire. I finish my estimates, send them off, and I’m done. I step outside, and the air smells like fried tofu from a nearby stall. I can’t help but smile. Cirebon, you crazy city, you’ve got my heart. Even after a day like today, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a little bit of madness. Just another day in Cirebon, I guess!
