Man, today was a wild ride in Delanggu! Like, seriously, I’m still trying to process it all. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to rush to the market on Jl. Raya Delanggu. You know, the one that’s always packed? Yeah, that one. I’m dodging people left and right, trying to get to my gig. I’m an interpreter, so I gotta be on point. But the crowd? Ugh! It’s like everyone decided to shop at the same time. I swear, I almost elbowed a grandma. Sorry, lady! Finally, I get to the community center. It’s buzzing with energy. Kids running around, parents chatting, and I’m just trying to find my zen. But then, bam! I find out the speaker is late. Like, really? I’m here sweating bullets, and this dude is just... MIA. I’m pacing, thinking, “What if I miss my chance to shine?” When he finally shows up, he’s all flustered. Turns out he got stuck in traffic on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta. Classic Delanggu, right? Traffic jams everywhere! Anyway, he starts his talk, and I’m in the zone, signing away. But then, he drops a bombshell. He’s talking about some new policy that’s gonna affect the deaf community. My heart sinks. I can feel the tension in the room. People are whispering, and I’m like, “Oh boy, here we go.” After the talk, folks are heated. I mean, I get it. They’re frustrated. I’m trying to keep the vibe positive, but it’s tough. One guy stands up, and he’s like, “This is BS!” I’m nodding, trying to keep it professional, but inside, I’m like, “Preach, brother!” Then, outta nowhere, this little girl runs up to me. She’s got the biggest smile, and she signs, “Thank you!” My heart melts. Like, seriously, how can you be mad when a kid is so sweet? I give her a thumbs up, and it’s like the clouds part. But then, I step outside for a breather. And guess what? It starts pouring! I’m talking monsoon-level rain. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m standing there, drenched, thinking, “This day just keeps getting better.” I mean, who doesn’t love a surprise shower, right? I decide to grab some food at that little warung on Jl. Diponegoro. You know the one with the best nasi goreng? Yeah, that’s the spot. I’m sitting there, trying to dry off, and the owner, Pak Budi, comes over. He’s like, “You look like a drowned rat!” I laugh, and he hands me a plate of steaming hot food. Bless him! As I’m eating, I overhear some folks talking about a festival coming up. They’re all excited, and I’m like, “Count me in!” I love the vibe of Delanggu during festivals. The lights, the music, the food—ugh, it’s the best! Finally, I head home, exhausted but happy. I think about the day. The ups, the downs, the rain, the smiles. Delanggu, you crazy place, you. You keep me on my toes! I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another rollercoaster in this beautiful, chaotic city. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
