Man, today was a wild ride in Gunungsitoli! Like, seriously, I didn’t expect this city to throw so much at me. So, I woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Yeah, it totally betrayed me. I jumped outta bed, threw on some clothes, and bolted out the door. First stop? Warung Kopi on Jalan Diponegoro. Gotta get that caffeine fix, right? I ordered my usual, kopi tubruk. The barista, this chill dude, was like, “You want it strong or strong?” I laughed, “Hit me with the strong!” I swear, that coffee could wake the dead. I downed it in like two gulps. Then, I decided to stroll down Jalan Yos Sudarso. The vibe was lit! People were out and about, vendors selling all sorts of goodies. I saw this one guy selling grilled fish. Man, it smelled so good! But then, outta nowhere, this stray dog just lunged at me. I freaked out! Like, dude, chill! I’m not your lunch! After that mini heart attack, I headed to the beach at Pantai Sorake. The waves were crashing, and the view? Breathtaking! I mean, who knew Gunungsitoli had such killer beaches? I plopped down on the sand, just soaking it all in. But then, I saw a bunch of kids playing soccer. They were so into it, kicking the ball like they were in the World Cup or something. I couldn’t help but smile. But then, bam! My phone buzzed. My buddy, Rudi, was like, “Yo, meet me at the pasar!” I was like, “Ugh, fine!” So, I rushed over to the pasar on Jalan Sisingamangaraja. It was packed! I mean, people everywhere, shouting, haggling. I love the chaos, but man, it can be overwhelming. I finally found Rudi, and he was munching on some pisang goreng. I was like, “Dude, save me some!” He just laughed and said, “You snooze, you lose!” So, I grabbed a piece, and wow, it was crispy heaven! But then, outta nowhere, it started pouring! Like, seriously, the sky just opened up. We ran for cover, but ended up ducking into this tiny shop. Turns out, it was a batik store. The owner was super nice and started showing us all these cool patterns. I was like, “Man, I need to get one of these!” After the rain stopped, we hit the streets again. But I was feeling kinda bummed. I mean, I had plans to go to the local music festival tonight, but the weather was iffy. Rudi was like, “C’mon, let’s just go!” So, we did. When we got there, the energy was insane! People dancing, laughing, just vibing. I felt my mood lift instantly. The band was playing some sick tunes, and I couldn’t help but join in. I was dancing like nobody was watching. But then, I saw this guy trying to start a mosh pit. I was like, “Dude, chill! This ain’t a rock concert!” But he just kept pushing people. I got a bit angry, but then I thought, “Whatever, let him have his fun.” As the night went on, I met some cool folks. We were all just enjoying the moment, sharing stories about Gunungsitoli. I even learned some local slang! By the end of the night, I was exhausted but so happy. I walked home, the streets of Gunungsitoli lit up, feeling grateful for this crazy day. I mean, who knew a simple day could turn into such an adventure? I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
