Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Indramayu, right? The sun was blazing like it was auditioning for a role in a summer blockbuster. I mean, come on, it’s like the sun’s got a personal vendetta against my skin. First thing, I hit up Jl. Raya Indramayu for some breakfast. You know, the usual: nasi goreng and a kopi tubruk. I swear, that coffee hits different. Like, it’s a punch in the face but in a good way. I’m sitting there, enjoying my meal, when suddenly this street vendor rolls up with the loudest cart ever. I’m talking about a cart that could wake the dead. He’s selling all these snacks—kerupuk, pisang goreng, you name it. I’m like, “Dude, chill! I’m trying to eat here!” But I can’t resist. I grab a handful of kerupuk. Crunchy goodness, man. After breakfast, I decided to stroll down Jl. Diponegoro. It’s a vibe, you know? The street’s lined with shops, and the smell of grilled fish is everywhere. I’m walking, minding my own business, when I see this group of kids playing sepak takraw. They’re kicking that rattan ball like it’s their job. I’m just standing there, amazed. I mean, I can barely kick a soccer ball without tripping over my own feet. Then, outta nowhere, this kid kicks the ball too hard, and it flies right at me! I duck like I’m in a freaking action movie. The ball misses me by inches. I’m like, “Whoa, that was close!” The kids laugh, and I can’t help but laugh too. It’s all good fun, right? But then, I get a bit annoyed. I’m walking past the pasar (market), and it’s packed. Like, sardines in a can packed. I’m trying to navigate through the crowd, and this lady just stops in front of me to haggle over some veggies. I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a statue! Move it!” But I keep my cool. Gotta be zen, right? Finally, I make it to the beach. Pantai Glayem, baby! The waves are crashing, and the breeze is perfect. I plop down on the sand, and for a moment, everything’s chill. I pull out my phone to snap a pic for the ‘gram. You know, gotta show off my life. But then, my phone dies. Just like that. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” So, I’m sitting there, phone-less, and I start people-watching. There’s this couple taking selfies, and I can’t help but roll my eyes. Like, do you really need 50 pics of the same pose? But then, I see an old man selling coconut water. He’s got this huge smile, and I’m like, “That’s the kind of energy I need.” I buy a coconut, and it’s the best thing ever. Sweet, refreshing, and totally worth it. As the sun starts to set, I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, relaxed, but also a bit reflective. Indramayu’s got this charm, you know? The mix of chaos and calm. I think about how life’s like that too. Full of surprises, ups and downs. But then, just when I thought the day couldn’t get crazier, I see a parade coming down Jl. Alun-Alun. Drummers, dancers, the whole shebang! I’m like, “What is happening?!” I jump in, and it’s a blast. Everyone’s dancing, and I’m trying to keep up. Spoiler alert: I can’t dance. But who cares? I’m in the moment, feeling alive. By the time I head home, I’m exhausted but happy. Indramayu, you wild city, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
