Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Kendari is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window, and I’m like, “Great, another day of tree-hugging.” But little did I know, today was gonna be a wild ride. First off, I hit the streets of Kendari. You know, those narrow lanes like Jl. Emy Saelan? Yeah, that one. Traffic’s a mess, as usual. I swear, if I see one more motorbike zoom past me, I’m gonna lose it. Like, chill, dude! We’re not in a race! So, I finally get to the park near Jl. S. Parman. It’s a nice spot, but man, the trees are lookin’ rough. I mean, come on! Who’s been neglecting these beauties? I’m all about saving trees, but they gotta help me help them, ya know? I start climbing this massive mangrove. It’s like, “Hey, I’m just here to do my job, not audition for a circus.” Halfway up, I spot a family of monkeys. They’re just chillin’, throwin’ stuff at each other. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not your entertainment!” But then one of ‘em throws a coconut at me. I duck just in time. Phew! Close call. After that, I’m feelin’ pretty good. I mean, who doesn’t love a little monkey drama? But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “We need you at Jl. Diponegoro ASAP!” Ugh, can’t a guy catch a break? I rush over, and guess what? There’s this huge tree that’s about to fall on a house. Like, seriously? Who let it get that bad? I’m fuming. “People, take care of your trees!” I’m up there, chainsaw in hand, and my heart’s racing. I’m thinkin’, “If this thing falls, I’m toast.” But then, outta nowhere, this little kid runs up. He’s like, “Mister, can I help?” I’m like, “Help? You’re like, five!” But he’s got this big ol’ grin, and I can’t say no. So, I hand him a rope. He’s all serious, tying knots like a pro. I’m cracking up. “You sure you’re not a pirate?” Finally, we manage to stabilize the tree. I’m sweating buckets, but the kid’s cheering. “We did it!” And I’m like, “Yeah, buddy! Teamwork makes the dream work!” After that, I’m feelin’ all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I head to the local warung for some grub. I’m starving! I order some ikan bakar, and while I’m waiting, I overhear this guy complaining about the weather. “It’s too hot!” I’m like, “Dude, we live in Kendari! What do you expect?” Food finally comes, and it’s glorious. I’m chowing down, and I swear, the flavors are dancing in my mouth. But then, I spill some sambal on my shirt. Classic me, right? I’m just a mess today. As I’m leaving, I bump into an old friend from high school. We start reminiscing about our crazy days at SMAN 1 Kendari. Man, those were the days! We laugh, we cry, and I’m like, “Why don’t we hang out more?” But then, I remember I gotta get home. I’m exhausted. I hop on my bike, and as I’m cruising down Jl. Ahmad Yani, I can’t help but think about the day. It was chaotic, emotional, and downright hilarious. Kendari, you’ve got my heart. Even on the craziest days, you keep me coming back for more. Here’s to more tree-climbing, monkey dodging, and sambal spills! What a ride!
