Man, what a day! I swear, Madiun really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Jl. Pahlawan for breakfast. You know, the usual spot with the best nasi goreng? I’m all set for some spicy goodness. But guess what? They ran out of rice! Like, how do you run out of rice in Indonesia? I was fuming. I mean, c’mon! It’s like a burger joint running outta buns. So, I settled for some weird tofu thing. Not the same, man. Not the same. After that, I decided to hit the market on Jl. Diponegoro. It’s always buzzing, right? But today? It was like a scene from a zombie movie. People everywhere, and I’m just trying to navigate through the chaos. I bump into this old lady selling fruits. She’s like, “Hey, young man! Buy my mangos!” I’m like, “Lady, I’m just trying to survive here!” But I bought a mango anyway. It was juicy, at least. Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m standing there, under some awning, looking like a drowned rat. And what do I see? A bunch of kids playing in the rain! They’re splashing around, laughing, and I’m just standing there, grumpy. I can’t help but smile, though. Kids have that magic, ya know? So, I finally decide to make a run for it. I dash down Jl. Merdeka, dodging puddles like I’m in some kind of Olympic event. I’m laughing at myself, thinking, “What a day!” But then, BAM! I slip on a wet spot and go down. Like, full-on cartoon style. I’m sprawled out, and this group of teenagers starts laughing. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!” But inside, I’m dying. After that, I needed a pick-me-up. So, I hit up this little café on Jl. Yos Sudarso. They have the best kopi Madiun. I order one, and the barista, this cool dude, gives me a free slice of cake. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” That cake was heavenly. I’m talking chocolate, whipped cream, the works. I could’ve cried. Feeling a bit better, I decide to check out the Madiun City Square. It’s usually chill, but today? It’s packed! There’s some festival going on. Food stalls everywhere, music blasting. I’m like, “Okay, this is more like it!” I grab some sate and just enjoy the vibe. People dancing, kids running around, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, I see this guy trying to juggle fire. I’m thinking, “This can’t end well.” And guess what? He drops a torch! Fire goes everywhere! People are screaming, and I’m just standing there, popcorn in hand, watching the chaos unfold. It was wild! As the sun sets, I’m walking back home, reflecting on the day. Madiun, man. It’s a rollercoaster. One minute you’re mad about rice, the next you’re laughing at a fire juggler. I love this city, even when it drives me nuts. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Madiun, you crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
