Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my tiny apartment on Jalan Somba Opu, right? The sun’s blasting through my window like it’s trying to fry me. I’m like, “Chill, sun! I’m not ready for this!” First thing, I spill my coffee all over my favorite batik shirt. Ugh! It’s like the universe is saying, “Good morning, loser!” I rush to clean it up, and of course, I’m late for my meeting. Traffic on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo is a nightmare. I swear, I saw a guy on a motorbike weaving through cars like he was in a video game. I’m stuck in my car, just fuming. Finally, I get to the office, and guess what? My team is already there, looking all chipper. I’m like, “Did you guys teleport or something?” They just laugh. I can’t even. We start the meeting, and it’s all good vibes until my boss drops a bomb. “We need to cut the budget.” WHAT?! I almost choked on my water. I mean, c’mon! We’re in Makassar, not some fancy city with endless cash. After that, I needed a break. So, I hit up the nearest warung on Jalan Bontolempangan. Best place for nasi goreng, no joke! I order my usual, and while I’m waiting, I see this street vendor selling pisang epe. I’m like, “Dude, I need that in my life!” So, I grab one, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Sweet, sticky, and just the right amount of crispy. But then, I get a call. It’s my mom. She’s like, “You need to come home for dinner!” I’m like, “Mom, I’m busy!” But you know how moms are. Guilt trip central. So, I promise I’ll be there. Back at the office, things get crazier. My colleague, Rina, spills her drink all over the presentation. I’m just sitting there, facepalming. “Rina, really?!” She’s laughing, and I’m like, “This is not a comedy show!” But honestly, it was kinda funny. Finally, the workday ends, and I’m outta there. I drive down to Pantai Losari. The sunset is insane! Like, orange and pink everywhere. I park and just sit there for a bit, soaking it all in. It’s moments like this that make me love Makassar. The sea breeze, the sound of waves, and the smell of grilled seafood from nearby stalls. Then, I remember I promised my mom dinner. So, I rush home, and she’s made my favorite, ikan bakar. I’m stuffing my face, and she’s telling me about the neighbors. Classic mom stuff. I’m laughing, but inside I’m thinking, “I need to survive this day first!” After dinner, I finally crash on the couch. My brain is like, “Dude, what just happened?” I’m exhausted but grateful. Makassar is wild, man. Full of surprises, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Crazy, emotional, and totally unforgettable. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
