Man, lemme tell ya about my day in Mamuju. Wow, just wow. I woke up, sun blarin’ through my window on Jalan Alun-Alun. Thought it was gonna be a chill day, ya know? But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the market early. The smell of fresh fish and spices hit me like a brick. I’m a butcher, not a fishmonger, but hey, it’s Mamuju, right? Gotta roll with it. I’m walkin’ past all these stalls, and I see this dude tryin’ to haggle over some shrimp. Like, c’mon man, it’s shrimp, not gold! Then, I get to my shop on Jalan Raya. My buddy, Budi, is already there, tryin’ to show off his new cleaver. I’m like, “Dude, you’re not a samurai!” We laugh, but then he drops it. Cleaver goes clank! I swear, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. So, I’m slicin’ meat, right? And this lady walks in. She’s all like, “I need the best cut for my husband’s birthday.” I’m thinkin’, “Lady, it’s just meat.” But I put on my best butcher smile. I grab a nice ribeye, and she’s like, “No, I want something special.” I’m like, “What, you want it to sing happy birthday too?” Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. Just my luck! Mamuju’s got these power outages sometimes, but this one hit hard. I’m standin’ there in the dark, meat in hand, feelin’ like a caveman. Budi’s tryin’ to light a candle, but he’s makin’ it worse. I’m like, “Dude, just chill!” Finally, the lights flicker back on. Thank goodness! But then, I hear this commotion outside. I peek out, and there’s a parade goin’ down Jalan Trans Sulawesi. I mean, who knew? People are dancin’, drummers are bangin’, and I’m just standin’ there with a slab of beef. I’m thinkin’, “Should I join? Or stay here and slice?” I decide to step out. I mean, it’s Mamuju! Gotta embrace the vibe. I’m dancin’ with the crowd, meat in one hand, and I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. Then, this kid runs up to me, “Mister, can I have some meat?” I’m like, “Kid, this ain’t a food truck!” But I can’t help it. I give him a small piece. He grins like I just handed him a treasure. After the parade, I head back to the shop. I’m exhausted but happy. Then, I see my old pal, Rina, from the market. She’s got this wild idea to start a food truck. I’m like, “Rina, you can’t even cook rice!” But she’s all fired up. I can’t help but laugh. As the day winds down, I’m cleanin’ up. I think about how crazy Mamuju is. The streets, the people, the food. It’s chaotic but beautiful. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of meat, laughter, and a bit of madness. Just another day in Mamuju, ya know?
